Depends on how much you want to spend...I understand the first pesons answer being that people spend too much on it....But it is your senior prom, last year of high school. I spent...
Dress: $150

Hair: $50 (but I got it for free from a family friend), you can probably do something cute on your own

Make-up: do it yourself, chances if you go somewhere they are going to make you look like a clown or a eh em, whore...

Shoes: $50

Accessories: Where something you own or do it up with some cheap stuff from a place in a mall (not a real jewelry store)

The dress is actually the most expensive part but the most important. But if you started looking now, and your prom is next year, you could some great deals on a dress.

I ramble a lot...sorry bout that...

It depends on how far you want to go. A dress can be as little as $20 or as much as $400. You could do your hair at home instead of getting it done to save money. You don't pay for the food. Some girls like to go tanning before prom, so that would cost a bit too.

Just be yourself & you'll be fine. When I went to my Senior Prom, (no 9th or 10th graders were allowed) I got a really pretty wrist corsage from my boyfriend & we had another couple go along with us for the evening. Everyone at the prom just danced, took lots of pictures, socialized, ate the catered meal, drank soft drinks, & that was it. The next day, the four of us went to Idora Park in Youngstown, Ohio. We rode the rides, & just had some good clean fun. We had to get back to the city we all lived in kind of early, as my boyfriend had to work. Relax, you'll be just fine. Have a good time! There will be plenty of chaperones at the prom, so if someone gets wild, they will be dealt with.

I bought my prom dress from Macy's for about 40 dollars originally 200 dollars it was on sale. Dinner was about 15 dollars, and my prom ticket cost 30 dollars and gas in my car to go around town was about a total of 10 dollars. I had my hair and makeup and nails done by my step mom since she does hair and nails for a living.
have a great time at prom. you can make it not expensive by shopping around.

If you do your shopping around it really shouldn't be that much. I mean, I do not see the point in getting the custom made designer gowns and s**t. That's ridiculus for one frivolous night of entertainment. Believe it or not, you can find used prom dresses at yard sales and private bridal boutiques that were only worn one time for prom and won't break your budget. My prom experience back in '97 only cost me a grand total of $65. Of course my date paid for dinner and we all carpooled instead of renting a limo... But we had extra cash for the after party.

dress--if u shop the summer before u can get really good deals when stuff is on clearance...u can find a really good dress for like $70...now if u already have matching shoes/necklaces/purse...ull save money there too....but look around for sales and stuff and all that will cost you like $40

the ticket to prom...usually 50-80$

limo...usually comes down to around $40....less if u have more pplz

hair- prolly cost you $40-70...but if u want something simple u can prolly do it ur self...or get a friend to do it

makeup-its better to do ur self, because its way too overprices (50$ atleast) and the makeup artist doesnt know and what youll like so for makeup, i say do it urself

corsage/ boutonniere--prolly 15$ each

Doesn't cost the girl a thing. It costs her parents a bunch for the dress and the hair/make-up and the guy for the tickets, corsage, car, dinner and after-prom party.

All I had to buy was my dress ($200), Jewelwry ($40), Shoes ($50), my hair and nails($50) and my boyfriend paid for the food, boutonnière and corsage, pictures, and trasportation. So all together I paid $340.

i personally spent about $400, but I bought a kind of expensive dress and shoes (which i'm still sort of regretting lol), and i paid for my own ticket and my share of the expense of renting a limo with friends.

if you've got a date who pays for your ticket & transportation, it'd probably cost you about half that.

Have fun at prom!
