In the second game, you could see a small town behind Kairi when she was remembering Sora near the beginning of the game. The town looked a lot like Twilight Town especially because there was a building that looked like the Towering building right behind the train station.

i think they are worlds apart but the programmers got lazy and added that instead of creating a new town all together (look at lulu from FF-10 then look at her again in FF-10-2 when shes "pregnant")

I think that desinty island and tranverse town are pretty close. It could easily be, but it could also be just another town world that looks similar.
When the worlds were put back together, some moved around to reaccomadate the worlds that had come back. Hallow Bastion and Atlantis were featured in the first game and both are accessible however a few other worlds from the first game didn't exsist or were seen in the second game.

I'm sure since the games are made by the same people then the games will have similar building
