Hi,

I need to buy a new PC that can run specialist software which is only currently compatible with XP. In about a 6 months a fix will be ready for it to run on Vista. When I order my PC now, what shall I buy?

Partitioned hard drive with two operating systems?
XP system then upgrade to Vista in 6 months? Easy to do?
Something else?

I have no clue.

Thanks for your help

K

Buy a PC that says "Vista Ready." Also, go to Microsoft's website to see recommended system requirements for a PC running Vista and you can buy your next PC based on those system requirements and then upgrade your OS when you are ready.

hi, get Vista, u will like it. domicile windows Xp isn't something while in comparison with Vista, its the least complicated OS available, I advise its nevertheless domicile windows. Its extra appropriate than Xp in fairly some procedures alongside with protection and seems and 3-D outcomes and directx10 and stuff. it particularly is particularly worth it and there is not any element sticking with the 7 twelve months previous Xp and in spite of u do do not disable person account administration or UAC like the human beings right here r telling u to reason thats a significant protection function. good success and take care! Edit: hi back, I in simple terms examine your question and if u decide for it for 3 to 4 years then u could get Vista reason Xp would be interior the rubbish with the aid of then, do u particularly need to apply such an previous device?
