I've noticed that when conservative disagree with homosexuals then libs come back with something like "you must be a closet homosexual".

Well, if there is nothing wrong being gay then why do they use it like an insult in their retort.

It's not the homosexual part that is intended to offend, but the closeted part. Nothing wrong with being a homosexual. However, there is something wrong with believing that you can will yourself straight, or somehow be "cured" of homosexuality.

I've never said that to anyone, nor do I feel that anyone who disagrees with homosexuality must there be a closet homosexual (I assume this term to mean someone in denial). This is akin to saying that anyone against murder is a closet murderer, or that anyone against vanilla ice cream is a closet vanilla ice cream fanatic.

Homosexuality isn't bad, nor is being a closet homosexual. Whatever the case, whatever you want to be is up to you. I just think it's sad if you feel you have to lie about it to anyone else, including yourself.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Liberals like to label people when that person disagrees with them. Just like if you are against amnesty for illegals, you are a racist; if you don't think women deserve more than equal rights to men, you are a gender bigot; if you didn't think affirmative action should be used, you hate black people; if you think terrorists need to be dealt with militarily, you are a war mongering baby killer; if you dislike welare and socialism, you're a greedy capitalist pig that loathes the poor; if you don't think global warming is real, you hate mother nature! The list goes on and on!

Liberals don't think homosexuality is bad. Don't forget, we're the ones who're fighting for same-sex marriage. We're the ones who're trying to make crimes against the GBLT community hate crimes. We're also the ones who're fighting to allow gays to adopt.

It, in fact, is Conservatives who hate it. It goes against their "high religious morals" (Separation of Church-State, anyone). They're the ones they're giving the gay community the hardest time. They're the ones that're okaying crimes against gays. They're the ones that say gays aren't worthy enough to marry.

Look again. I've never heard any Liberal say "you must be in the closet" to a Conservative who doesn't agree with gay marriage. I've heard them say "close minded", but not "closeted".

Its not an insult, its calling it how a person sees it.

Gay issues are only issues to gay people, to the rest of us, they are non-issues, they don't effect us in any way.

Homophobia is a sure sign that a person is less than straight.

Because there is an election on the horizon and everyone agrees with the popular ideas now.Just wait, it will all change when the election is over.Just like Georges stance on immigration did.

It's even more interesting when a black person runs for office as a conservative/ republican....then you hear how racist the so called liberals are.

They're trying to argue that you're a hypocrite. While pointing out hypocrisy can be funny, nothing of any substance is accomplished by proving its existence. All you've established is that your opponent is being ethically inconsistent, not that your opponent's ethics are incorrect. The short answer is that they're unable or unwilling to have a meaningful discussion regarding morality, so they resort to name-calling and accusations of hypocrisy.

Because the people who do that know that the people they're talking to would rather be suspected of being serial killers than being gay.

It's an insult if the person who hears it is insulted by it.
