I am not sure exactly when the war/liberation of Iraq became an invasion, but it scares me to think of how such a play on words can affect the emotions of the people. .

If it were all about the oil, why are the gas prices so high now? Don't you think that the cost would be lower because the supply is higher?

It was an invasion, pure and simple. The fact that people are still shooting at us should demonstrate this to you.

The UN Resolutions, while significant, do NOT authorize member nations to take military action without Security Council authorization, and Bush withdrew his motion when it became clear that it was going to lose not by some French veto, but 13-2 against.

Your argument about oil prices has no relevance whatsoever. We wouldn't invade to release vast amounts of oil at a low price when there is FAR more profit to be had by holding back. Have you sen oil company profits lately? Highest ever in history. The price of gold didn't come down when it was discovered in California. People went and risked their lives for it to make a fortune, not to lower the price of gold for their fellow citizens.

The UN inspectors said that they didn't find any evidence of Saddam having WMD's. So, you guessed right it was all BS and well recognized.
When they say is about oil, they mean the trade of that oil is made in American dollars. That doesn't mean that the gas will go down in prices. Although, the trade being in American dollars benefits US greatly, illegally invading a country with BS for that purpose is an act of organized crime.

It was an invasion, for God's sake!

Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11.
Iraq had no WMDs.
At Bush's first cabinet meeting in January 2001, an invasion of Iraq was discussed.
Bush pulled out the weapons inspectors so he could invade.

What Iraq did have was oil, and lots of it.

When one country attacks another country without provocation and with thousands of people and weaponry that is an invasion. The reason for the invasion may be to "free" someone or to take over something but it is an invasion nevertheless.
