fighter fish? Siamese fighting fish? = Betta?
Get a Betta Barracks for it. It will have it's own space.

You should not put other fish in with gold fish. Gold fish have a toxicisity of their own and ideally you should not have other fish in with them. Bettas aren't very lively fish either.

Sounds like you have a pretty unhappy fishie there. Get the poor thing it's own space. I keep my Bettas hung up on wall tanks. They are pretty solitary fish.

Sorry to say, but these fish shouldn't be kept together. The goldfish are coldwater, the betta is tropical, so their temperature needs are different.
From the dimensions you give, this sounds like it's a 5.5 gallon tank. That's not really enough room for your fish. It would be okay for the betta alone, but the goldfish (depending on variety) can get 8-18" long. They're also big waste producers, so you're going to need to be doing lots of water changes to provide good water quality.

Put a cover over it. Or take out the gold fish, fighting fish do better with darker and not so bright fish. Goldfish have really acidic urine and makes other fish sick.
