My whole life I was never "the best" at anything so rather than try harder I took the easy route and got attention for being a f**k up instead of attention for being great at something like I really wanted. But when nothing comes naturally to you you can't get the positive attention. Now I'm tired of the negative attention and want to be amazingly talented. How can I get the results I want?

I have no desire to be average. Life is too short to be un-noteworthy. I only like what I'm good at so the closest that is is playing w/ my hula hoop (at 22 that's a little pathetic) and organizing things (closets, cupboards, etc)

Well, here is some positive attention from me. Stop worrying and listen to what others think you should do or be. Just be yourself. I am sure you're a wonderful person. Now, does this help?

Hello. I too got a lot of negative attention my whole life. Rather than classified as a f*ck up, I was always the weird chick, or the slutty girl, only because I thought outside the box. I am sure you are talented at something, don't fret with that. I am guessing that your talent is probably something latent or something you have yet to try. The best way to get new results from people is to reinvent yourself, which we all do at some point or another. I'm not saying strip out your wardrobe or get a facelift or start wearing makeup, it could be as simple as smiling more and being polite. Take time each day to try one new thing, and eventually you will find your knack. If you still need help, I work in psychology and wouldn't mind continuing to talk to you.

there are 6,000,000,000 people on this planet. to be the best at anything you have to specialise from the point of grade school. You really have to be a child prodigy just to get accepted into the sort of environment that will mold you into a contender for # 1 in any endeavour.

and what makes you think anything comes naturally to anyone ? What would be amazing is if you took your current attitude toward life and abandoned it in favour of some hard work like what you so easily dismissed. Thats how the rest of us get where we are. And it may not be much, but its enough to see that you will never achieve it the way youre going

You have to try things , lots of different kinds of things and keep trying at them until you either know you hate them or you actually get better at them You arent going to excel at anything you've only tried a few times.

But the pressure to be great at anything is unbearable and the boredom of doing just one thing 24/7/52 is crushing. Why would you want that?

Just do your best at everything you try and people will respect that. People expect perfection when one thing is all you do. But a multitalented person at a normal level is much more valuable in most circles.
Best is just a word.
Competent is a much better word. lower the pressure on yourself

Not everyone can be great at something. Not everyone is born with some natural talent. Sometimes it takes time to become good at things. People spend years practicing to get good at some of the things they do. Granted there are people who are naturally talented there are also people out there who have struggled become what they are.

Stop messing up your life. Straighten up first. You're not just going to start getting positive attention overnight. It sounds like you're craving too much attention. You want to do something easy and get recgonized. Trying to get your parents' attention is one thing, but you sound like you want the world to look at you.

Start off small go to college, get a job. You don't have to have talent to get positive attention. You can suceed at work. Your co-workers will see it and your family and friends can know about it. It may not be something you can show off, but it's easier than trying to become successful off a talent.

If you insist on being recgonized find what you are good at or find something you like that you can practice. Sports(Dance, martial arts), video games, music, writing, acting, ect. Talent doesn't come over night. Even if you are talented it doesn't mean it will get you anywhere. Some of the most talented people have never been recgonized or don't get recgonized until years later. Many poets, writers, and artists lived poor lives. It wasn't until years after their death that people started paying money for their works.

You've compromised your whole life to please other people. You can get positive attention by being yourself. Some people are naturally talented in many areas, for the rest of us it takes time and effort to acquire talent in a field of interest. Practice makes perfect. Most people that are successful didn't just wake up one morning and have an incredible talent. It takes work like everything else in life. Focus on your good traits (every one has at least 1) and you will get the results your looking for.

Grow up.... There are plenty of very good, wonderful people, who get loads of positive attention from the close circle of people around them... and they are NOT "Amazingly Talented". All amazing talent needs to be developed and nutured, and this will take some hard work and dedication. There is no magic wand here !!!

My friend, you don't have to be the best...and you don't have to be the worst. Just be a normal person. Most people like that kind of person. Either amazingly talented or amazingly a f***up will push people away from you. Just chill out and see. People will be friendly toward an average person.

^People have made lots of money organizing other people's stuff, it's big business, why don't you try that. If there aren't companies in your area hiring, you can make flyer's and put them all over your town or city and see what happens. Figure out your prices for your time first, you can get books out of the library that can help you with the business end. Good luck.

The world is full of average people and I am one of them, proud to be. You say you have talent but what I hear is belief in yourself and therefore you fail. If you don't like who you are how can anyone else. Stop whining about how bad your life is and look around you will see people that is worse off.
