I like Denver's chances of making the playoffs this year. They'll get in as a wild card though - I don't think they're as good as San Diego in the division.
First, the good news. If I were a Bronco fan I wouldn't worry about the running game, you can insert Maurice Clarett in Shanahan's system and he'll run for 1500 yards. Defense is top 5 in the league with Champ and Dre Bly now. Jay Cutler showed last year that he can be an excellent QB. I like the WRs and the additions of Stokley and Graham at WR and TE. The calendar is favorable as the only really tough games outside the two against the Chargers will be at Indy and Chicago. Denver plays a weak NFC north this year. I can see the Broncos achieving an 11-5 or even 12-4 record this year.
Now the bad news is the Chargers. San Diego is arguably the #2 or #3 team in the whole NFL. Playing them twice is trouble. One small plus here is that Broncos will host them in Week 5 when San Diego could be still settling in with the new coaching staff, so the Broncos could have a chance there. However, San Diego will take the AFC west again when is all said and done.
The Denver record could be good enough for a #5 spot in the AFC, and they will have a good chance against Raven or a Bengal team in the Wild Card game. However, I don't see them rolling past the Colts, the Pats, or the Chargers.

With the Broncos, there is always the chance that a Super Bowl could be in sight. There is also a chance for a mediocre 8-8 season. Welcome to the NFL.
The defense has a chance to be very good. The secondary will be amongst the best in football. The linebacking corps will miss Al Wilson but will still be solid. It will be interesting to see how the defensive line shapes up with new d-coordinator Jim Bates. They have got to put more pressure on the opposing quarterback.
The offense will be very good. True, Jay Cutler is inexperienced and will have some more growing pains. However, he did show signs of brilliance last season. He certainly has a cannon. Denver is Denver, so they will run the ball. The receiver corps will be strong with returnees Walker, Smith, Marshall, and Scheffler along with newcomers Daniel Graham and Brandon Stokely.
The special teams will still be solid with Jason Elam returing and Todd Sauerbrun coming back to Denver. Todd, if you want to be fat, that's fine. Just kick the ball far and accurate. Stay away from the weight loss pills containing ephedera.
The coaching scheme will be very different. The defense looks to plan to have more aggressive schemes, which I like. Shanahan will open up the playbook and unleash Cutler. No more running the ball on third-and-medium.
Basically, in my opinion (not that it is a groundbreaking revelation), this season's success will come down to two things. First of all, the team has got to stay healthy. That goes without saying. Also, the huge key for them will be to WIN ALL HOME GAMES!!! When you go 8-0 at home, you can afford to go .500 on the road because you will still be 12-4, which is plenty good for the playoffs. Just think to recent seasons. I guarantee you if you compare Super Bowl or deep playoff runs to flameout seasons, the difference in those seasons lies in the home record. Denver lost four home games last year in a 9-7 season. Had one of those games gone different (and that easily could have happened), they would have been in the playoffs. Had two, three, or even all of those games gone different (and that easily could have happened), they could have contended for the Super Bowl.
One thing is for sure though...I cannot wait for it all to begin. It's been eight long years since that glorious night in Miami when #7 went out in style and won the Super Bowl. It's time to get back there!!!

I think they'll finish 12-4 and win the division. Jay Cutler is the real deal and will have a very good 2nd year. Travis Henry will put up much better numbers than any Broncos back in the last 5 years.
It's a shame that Wilson had to go, I hope that his injury doesn't bring the end of his career. I think that DJ will do just fine in the middle. I don't think he was ever really comfortable on the strong side. That dude is a beast and I think he'll suprise a lot of people this year. Not sure who's going to be on the strong side. (Holdman, Lewis?) I don't know much about either of these 2. In any event, the D will be in the top 5 in the NFL.
I predict that we'll go deep into the playoffs this year.
GO BRONCOS!!!

well the broncos haven't lost any real players with the exeption of wilson. on the other hand they got loads of new players including the linemen from the draft, bly and travis henry of course, more DTs in sam adams and jimmy kenedy. jay cutler will probably settle down toward the middle of the season and i calculated based on last years proformance that the broncos have a below avergage schedule and they play alot of sucky teams. overall, based on last years record, im guessing the broncos are going somewhere around 12-4 and the other good team in the division will be chargers. with the absense of marty they will go 10-6 and the chiefs, 9-7. the raiders are going like, 0-16 or something

Should one be excited about having Travis Henry on their team as someone asked? I think it'll be better to ask that in January as Henry racks up a 1500yd season.
Almost anyone can run behind the o-line in Denver, and that is especially the case for a man that is coming off a 1200+yd season last year with the Titans. Henry gets 1500+ yds if he stays healthy.
Denver goes 11-5, and wins the division. The Chargers have lost their identity with the departure of their entire coaching staff. Not to say that the Chargers will make it easy on the Broncos by any means, but the improved Broncos take the division along with the Patriots (East), Jaguars (South), and Ravens (North).

11-5 AFC West Champion
Their schedule is much more favorable this year than the Chargers and the Chiefs have the autopilot set for the nearest mountain.
Chargers have Colts and Patriots, Denver has Jaguars and Bills. Figuring out which is the tougher pair isn't too hard!
I think Henry will go on the high side of 1500 which is competitive with Tomlinson and Johnson who will be in the 1500-1700 range. The Broncos have a fine offensive line to back him up. Cutler is far and away the best quarterback of the '06 class, at least so far. He averaged 2 touchdowns vs 1 interception per game.
The defense is the main reason they will win the division. I shudder to think about Rivers tossing up one of his wobbly lame ducks to one of his sup-par receivers against Bailey and Bly! The run defense will be better with the addition of Adams but linebacking is a big question mark.
They have easily the best coaching staff in the West.
This will all combine for 11 wins and the division title

Okay, I really like the Broncos but I think it's highly unlikely they will win the division. As some else here said, if they were in the NFC, they might be playing in the SB.
They will likely finish 2nd in the division behind San Diego, I think they will be good enough to pass KC this year and make the playoffs, maybe 10-6 or 9-7. They have added key players on Defense but they also lost thier best defensive player in Al Wilson, stupid move to let him go!

Their defense should be stellar. Probable top 5 in the AFC. They will probable lean heavily on the run game, like they always have so having an unproven, young quarterback shouldn't hinder their play off chances. They do play in the same division as the Chargers though. Even with a new coaching staff in San Diego, the Chargers are still the team to beat. I think the Broncos will finish 11-5 and get a wild card spot. They will probably make it to the AFC Title game, where they will lose to the Chargers or Colts.

Should have a great D. New weapons on offense. A lot of their success will depend on the maturity of Cutler. Cutler has the physical skills, he's got the talent around him, how well his mental skills advance will determine their season. If all goes well, 11-5 and win the division. At worse I think 10-6 or 9-7 and a wildcard.

I think their gonna have a good season if cutler can come into his own this year. Champ Bailey is the mad but Bronco fan BLY is not that great I watched him play with my pitiful lions last year and the guy either got burnt or got a pass interference call!! You guys didn't watch him play everyday I hope he helps you out more than I think he will!
11-5
