Wondering if anyone knows of discounts on shows or something special my wife and I can do? We are going July 15-21 and staying at the Monte Carlo. We also are planning a Grand Canyon trip. I'm cheap, anyone know shortcuts or discounts?

If you don't mind waiting until last minute there are stands around town where you can buy discounted tickets for shows that haven't sold out:

Cheap? Vegas.com has LOTS of suggestions. the first link has several categories like "The Bargain Hunter". The second is a list of all of the free stuff to do. Check out these sites:

The Bellagio should be on a list of things to do. (Free to see the Water Fountain show out front and the Conservatory inside)

If you are up for a steakhouse (most all "steakhouses" are $50+ per person), Hugo's Cellar (downtown at 4 Queens) is consistenty voted the best Gourmet Room in Las Vegas, AND for the anniversary your wife will be greeted with a long stem rose (given to all ladies).

I would also suggest seeing a Cirque du Soleil Show. There are plenty to choose from: Ka at MGM, Mystere at Treasure Island, LOVE at The Mirage, O at Bellagio, and Zumanity at New York, New York. Of those, I've seen both LOVE and Mystere. While I'd reccomend both, I really found Mystere to be more entertaining. It's a fascinating and impressive show of dance and acrobatics - some parts will literally take your breath away. Not only that, but it's the cheapest of all Cirque shows. Tickets start at around $60. For more information on ticket prices and show times go to the following link: http://treasureisland.com/pages/ent_mystere.asp

Also, when looking for show tickets, you may be able to get some at a discount by buying them the day of the show. There is a discount ticket booth located at the Fashion Show Mall that opens at 11:00 AM. Get there at 10:30 AM - the line fills up quickly.

Happy Anniversary and have a great time!

Check all the on line casino listings and be sure to look at travelzoo (www.travelzoo.com) discounts on shows, etc. They also have a place you can go in person once you get there to get 2 for 1 tickets and discounts. On the way to the Grand Canyon, stop at Hoover Dam. You are going for a few days so you may want to splurge on the 3 day city pass that gets you into many different locations. I would suggest a few of the different Cirque du Soleil shows, a music or magic show also. Lots to do in Sin City...even a few things with your clothes on!

Depends what you enjoy. The Barry Manilow show runs on certain nights at the Hilton - excellent! The Phantom of the Opera is on at the Venetian also a great show. Happy Anniversary and have fun!!
