I'm 15 and I'm going to spain this summer with my my friends but I don't know whether to wear a bikini like them. I'm 5ft 3 and a UK 10/12. Will I look out of place if I just wear a tankini/swimsuit? I think I'd be more comfortable that way but I don't want to seem boring and look ugly compared to my (thinner) friends. What do you think?

A size 10 - 12 is perfect for your height, what are you worried about!!!!???? Wear a bikini, or if you don't feel comfortable get a tankini instead.

wear a bikini and dont be ashamed! stuff what other people think!!! I bet your mates envy your curves. Its better to be curvy than flat! I've always been a size 10/12 and i'm 5ft 5 and no one has ever told me i look fat! i dropped down to a size 8 when I was 16 and looked like a skeleton! Now i've had a baby and am back to a healthy size 10/12 again and i'm 18 and havent grown an inch in the past 2 yrs!

Honestly....what kind of idiot would even consider telling you not to wear a bikini!!!!! Your size is perfect, i have a few really thin friends who men don't find very attrative because they have the bodies of children - it's not right! I'm a size ten, i'm always being told i have a great figure. Even if i went up to a 12, i'd still wear a bikini on holiday (Marylin Monroe was a size 16.....) because that's not fat. If you're healthy and happy then wear what you want, i garuntee you'll look your best as long as there's a smile on your face.

Some people have serious disfigurements or are clinically obese, count your lucky stars and show of your beautiful curves. If you don't, you'll look back on your holiday in ten years time and wonder what the hell was stopping you.

Have a brilliant time sweetie.....X

Yes, go for it!
I'm 16, 5ft 5 and size 10-12 too and I'm definitely going to wear a bikini this summer! If you're worried about your body, just do some toning exercises in the areas you don't like, just search online and in magazines, there are plenty you can do.
Good luck and have fun on your holiday!

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. I'm 33 yrs old, 5 ft 2, and a size 14/16 and wear a bikini on the beach because I feel comfortable in it, and my shape is good (not flabby if you know what I mean!). Plus there is always a worse sight than you by the pool or on the beach! Be proud of your figure, wear a bikini! size 10/12 sounds like the perfect slim shape to me!! no-one else cares what you look like half as much as you think they do!

You should wear whatever you feel comfortable in. From what you say of your size, it doesn't sound as though you are out of proportion, so wear a bikini if you want to. However if you feel more comfortable wearing a swimsuit or tankini then wear that. It is totally up to you. You dont have to follow the crowd, be individual!

I know somewon size 10 and size 12! and wearing a bikini wouldent be so bad but if you are unsure just stick to the swimsuit tell them what you think then if they are true friends they will understand and wont mind.

Anyway, really wish i was going...have fun and remember what do you feel comfortable in?

Sure! Get one to flatter your body type and you'll feel lots better about it too. Ignore the negative comments. Some people can't count and think you're bigger than you are. Others have no idea what UK sizing is all about and misunderstand. Go for it. I'll bet you have lots of very nice curves that will look stellar in a bikini!

Well, I live in the Virgin Islands and noone cares about size when they're at the beach, seriously- we all just have fun and even if you're 60 with belly rolls people are out there having fun. I think if you look confident and at ease with yourself then it translates to your body and you end up looking good no matter what size. If it makes you uneasy to wear a bikini then don't do it! I would take both suits and see how you feel when you get there.

Go for the bikini! I think that bikini's actually make you look thinner than swimsuits. You're a great size, show it off. You will feel nervous at first, but as soon as you're out on the beach, your confidence will go right up! Go for the right bikini for you're shape. Pear shapes wear string bottoms, heavy on top, get underwired. Enjoy your holiday x
