Sweetheart,
I know it's kinda weird the first time but I'm an old hat at this, so I'll let you in on a few things.

Sometimes when your period starts, you don't feel anything except wet pants. Sometimes the pain is really nasty. Most pain is in the bladder region or either side of your back near your tailbone. Take ibuprofen--at least 2. Heat helps a lot.

Sometimes you put on some water weight, which is harmless and leaves afterward. Midol helps with that. You may find that before your period starts, you become very moody and cry for no reason. It's the hormones shifting--perfectly normal. Your bleeding should last 3-5 days.

During the first while, your period may not be particularly reliable, but unless you miss 3 months, don't worry.

If you are one of the few of us for whom menstrual cramps are really heavy and really painful, go to the dr. and ask for birth control pills. Not because you're going to become sexually active (you're not, are you?) but because the hormones in the pill straighten out your period. It becomes very light and easy.

So now you have the 911 on periods. Back pain and little cramps may mean period, may not. You just have to wait and see.

It's possible, but it could be a lot of other things too. You could have slept weird and your back is sore because of that. You could have the flu, which causes your entire body to feel sore, but if you haven't had any other symptoms of the flu, then it's probably not that. Your stomach could be cramping because of indigestion.

If you've had other symptoms of going through puberty, then I suggest carrying around a panty liner just in case. You never know exactly when your period's going to start and it's best to have something on you when it does start.

possibly. It could be you've done something to strain you back muscles too, or a kidney infection.

If your period is late, it could also mean that you are showing signs and symptoms of miscarriage.

Sometimes also when a woman is pregnant, she will have some mild cramping and bleeding.

I would wear a pad or panty liner just in case. If they symptoms last two days or more, I would call the doctors office and ask to talk to the nurse. Let the nurse determine if you need an appointment or not. I sounds as if your body is getting ready to start your period, but if the pain continues, please call and make sure it is nothing more serious.

Must be your first time???? Other signs are craving salty snacks and chocolate. Or it could just be growing pains?

P.S. Deep breathing exercises and perhaps some muscle stretching slow exercise can help with the pains?

guessing that this must mean its your first one, then yes that is what that could mean. when i had my first period it felt more like some one took a sledge hammer to my back and ripped out my intestines....lol....but you might be one of the lucky ones who only gets a little pain.

perhaps they are saying ''Kill the hippo'' as a connection with Lord Of The Flies (there's a pretty little "kill the pig" chant interior the e book). or perhaps they are purely a touch atypical and you will desire to no longer concern approximately them. they gained't have get admission to to any hippos of their padded cells. George will shop the day.

Not necessarily, you might just have slept the wrong way and press some nerve or blood vessels. Sometimes it's also dehydration.
