This totally depends on maturity level and what the person's life experience is. Generally speaking relationships where the guy is older by at least a couple of years (if you are both over 18) at least seem to work best. Sometimes girls who are much (10+ years) younger then their man also works well. It really depends on how mature the people involved are. If someone is very sheltered (ie: a girl from a small midwest town who has never been on her own or experienced much outside that little environment) they will have a very hard time relating to someone considerably older. On the other hand, a young girl (18-20) who is from a cosmopolitan area like New York City who has traveled a lot (especially abroad) who is educated, etc ... that girl may naturally be attracted to a much older guy. It's all case by case. The important thing to remember is that its all about what you are comfortable with NOT NOT NOT what you think your parents, friends or your neighbors think. Huge age gaps are becoming more and more common. If you like him and he/she likes you that's all that matters.

The youngest guy I dated, was two years younger then me. And I'll never make that mistake again. The relationship didin't work out because he was too immature.
The oldest guy I dated(I'm still with him) is 3 years and 3 months older then me. We are really happy and I like that he mature enough to take a relationship seriously, because I am very mature for my age. Good question =]
