actually they did not come from a mountain, they came from a quarry.

Like we make bricks, except the bricks were
stronger as the sand consisted mostly of
limestone and sandstone due to the amount
of sand there. They used concrete made from
Sand, cement, limestone, sandstone and gravel.
They mined this and quarried.
No one knows exactly how, but that's where
the blocks came from and are made of.

Hello,
To anwser your question they didn't use stones the slaves made the stone out of mud clay based and water then they waited for them to dry .
