I'm actually a Bears fan, but he took over when they were 5-5 and led them 5-1 in his starting games. Was it a mistake not to resign him because McNabb is very injury prone??

Good for McNabb, Bad for the Eagles. Garcia picked up the slack after the injury to McNabb. Garcia is a true back up QB. Name him the starter and he fails but put him in during a crisis and he shines.

It was a mistake to not resign Garcia. As much as i like McNabb, Garcia showed he could get wins and with the drafting of Kevin Kolb, having Garcia and Kolb would have made McNabb unnecessary. They should have signed Garcia to a three year deal. Let him groom Kolb to be the starter in two years. They would have won enough games to make the playoffs with Garcia this upcoming season. They could have traded McNabb away which would have freed up cap space and given the Eagles a chance to really stack their defense.

When healthy McNabb is an elite qb. However, he is injured a lot and why pay all that money for McNabb when Garcia showed he can win games. It doens't matter that McNabb but up better stats. A win is a win.

The Eagles couldn't have resigned him, Jeff Garcia wanted to be payed a starting job salary, but the Eagles already had a starting QB.

It was a good decision in terms of their Salary Cap situation, but bad in terms of their backup QB situation now. Donovan is injury Prone, and I think their backup is A.J. Feely.

The Eagles could have never resigned Garcia, because it would be ridiculous to pay a backup QB a starting job salary. Overall, it was an OK decision. I think that the Eagles would be better off with Garcia, but unless they wanted to trade Donovan, Garcia was destined for another team.

Good, McNabb might not be ready to play but they drafted QB in the second round and AJ Feely did well lin Philly when he was a relatively young player. The Eagles saved a lot of money and didn't lose anything. Garcia is like 40. lol.

a million. On week 2, Kolb could be the only available QB. If the Eagles hadn't have been given Garcia, and Kolb replaced into injured, we'd be screwed. 2. i like Trotter, yet i think of he's plenty too previous and sluggish now to be an excellent run stopper.

Considering McNabb injury history and the fact that Garcia has proven himself a capable backup - bad move by Philly.

That's yet to be determined. Garcia had the year of his career last year...everything he did before that was pretty mediocre. I think the chemistry just worked last year. The OTHER major change the Eagles made last year was when Andy Reid turned over the play calling to one of his coordinators...that was even more important than Garcia's contribution.

It was a bad decision. That offense was a good fit for Garcia. They could have picked a receiver with their first pick in the draft instead of a qb they hope to never use.

Bad decision!!! I am a Cowboys fan and completely hate the Eagles. I must say this has to be one of the stupidest things the Eagles could have done. Look at what he did for them. Like him or not, he did more than carry the load.
