The Tigers are a strange team. They have the most runs of any team, yet they are only 39-39, why? Pitching, they have 2great hitting, but their pitching is terrible. Besides Verlander, everybody's ERA is too high (high 3s or 4) and their closing pitcher has an ERA over 5!

I'm not a fan, but they're obviously a great team that should make the playoffs this season.
Offensively, they're stacked. They've got the best slugging percentage in the league by a mile, and they're third in OBP. Teams that have both power and the ability to get on base will score plenty of runs, which is why the Tigers average about six a game. And the pickup of Sheffield was huge - he might only have 47 RBI, but he's leading the team in runs because he's getting on base at almost a .400 clip.
The starters have been excellent, as expected, but the Tigers' Achilles heel right now is their bullpen. It will help to get back Zumaya, but they've got plenty of holes - the league has figured out Rodney's stuff, Todd Jones is a horrible closer, and both Grilli and Ledezma have been terrible. The Tigers will need at least a couple of those guys to turn it around, or they're going to continue to blow leads late in games.
The Tigers and Indians should have a good fight for the division title, and the loser will probably still get the wildcard.

The Tigers will be just fine. They are hurting right now with Zumaya being gone.
They will make some bullpen moves before the trade deadline, names like Gagne have been coming up a lot, but I think they should put Maroth or Robertson (when his arm isnt tired) in the pen and see what happens when Rogers gets back in the rotation.
Durbin will also do the trick as a great middle reliever when Rogers comes back

Amazing team. They are good all around except for their bullpen. The Indians are another great team and the Tigers should get some relievers before the trade deadlines.

The Tigers are solid and if they remain healthy, another postseason run seems likely. However, Fernando Rodney is not as steady as some may think. The loss of Zumaya will hit them hard later in the year unless they trade for a proven set-up guy.

They are a hard working team. Even after horrible years with Jim Leyland, he is able to turn things around, and as of right now, it seems like he is able to keep it that way.
Detroit Tigers + Cleveland Indians + Minnesota Twins - White Shux = Best Division in BASEBALL!

Good all around team - but will not get to the World Series. It has been a LONG time since a team lost the World Series and then went back the next year and won it. So the odds are stacked against Detroit. They might have blown their chance last year.

They are a force to be reckoned with in the AL. Pitching wins Championships and they have an abundance there. They're not far out of 1st place and the Indians should be nervous. I have them winning the Central.
