I commute 50 miles one way 5 days a week and so does my husband. I retire mine when they get around 200K, although I did have a Honda that I retired at 298K. Generally speaking, when it gets close to that and things start going on, I find them a new home.
1994 Corsica with 74K (had it a year, bought it with 46K)
1997 Olds Sil with 177K (Had it a year and a half, it had 114K)
1984 GMC 6.2 diesel 4WD has 117K. Hubby's "pet" truck.
1990 Ford Dually diesel has 102K...my "pullin' truck.
Thinking about getting two new Toyota Yaris, driving mine til the wheels fall off and using hubby's as our "family car" once he retires in 4 years. I've a bit longer than that to commute before retiring.
