Does the name sound preppy, ghetto, ditzy, or something else to you? Also, what are some nicknames for that name?

It is kind of classy or British in my mind. Strong but not stiff or snobby. Although like others, I have heard it as a boys name before too.

I have a 6 month old niece named Kendyll (same as Kendall), and she has a twin brother named Karson. She is a beautiful baby girl. I love the name. The name does not sound preppy, ghetto or ditzy. It's beautiful and sophisticated. The nicknames we call her aren't really associated with her name. She is often called "princess." I love the name and good luck with your new daughter.

I like it. It's more of a girl name to me than a boy name like someone else suggested. My dd has a friend named Kendall in her class and it's a cute name and suits her. It's not really a name that lends itself to nicknames for girls which is a good thing, I think.

I love the name Kendall, in fact, I even considered naming one of my daughters Kendall.
There is nothing wrong with the spelling, but if you wanted to spice things up a bit and spell it differently, additional spellings would include:

Kendel
Kendal
Kendill
Kendil
Kendyl
Cendel
Cendall
Cendal
Cendill
Cendil
Cendyl

Some nicknames may include:

Ken
Kay
Kendy
Dolly
.....or, you could make something up with her middle name!

Good luck! I hope you have lots of fun bringing up your daughter!

My cousin is named Kendall and her nickname is Kenny. It doesn't sound preppy to me though because my cousin is a tomboy so I think the name is great!

I like it very much. You may want to may sure the middle name is really girly, though, like Kendall Elizabeth or Kendall Rose.
