first problem:
to raise a number to a power of 2 means to multiply the number by itself. So, 3^2 = 3*3 = 9
and 2^2 = 2*2 = 4
So find the square root of a number means you're trying to find another number that when multiplied by itself gives you the first number, so sqrt(25) = 5 since 5*5 =25. Another example is sqrt(16) = 4 since 4*4 = 16.
The the answer to first problem is:
3^2 + 2^2 * 5 - sqrt(25) = 3*3 + 2*2 *5 - sqrt (25) = 9 + 4*5 - 5
Now you need to remember your order of operations, and you always multiply before adding or subtracting, so:
9 + 4*5 - 5 = 9 + 20 - 5 = 29 - 5 = 24
The only thing you need to know for the second is that / just means divide, and once again you need to remember the order of operations and division always comes before adding and subtracting so,
8- 4/2 + 2 = 8 - (4 divided by 2) + 2 = 8 - 2 + 2 = 6 +2 = 8
Remember that division and multiplication always come before adding and subtracting and powers (that is exponents) always come first.

(3^2 +2^2 * 5 -square root of 25)/(8-4/ 2+2)
= (9 + 4*5 - 5) / (8 - 2 + 2)
= (9 + 20 - 5) / 8
= 24 / 8 = 3

3^2= 9 because 3*3=9
2^2=4 because 2*2=4
square root of 25=5 because 5 * 5= 25
now, you follow an order to solve an equation:
Parenthesis
Exponents or square roots
Multiplication
Division
Addition
Subtraction
(PEMDAS)
now lets solve the equation:
1)there are no parenthesis, so you move on to the exponents:
9+4*5-5=X
2) now multiplication
9+20-5
3)no division, lets add
29-5=X
4) subtract
24=X
--------------------------------------------------
on the second prob u need to use parenthesis cuz i dont know if 8-4 is the nominator and 2+4 the denominator or if its 8 minus the fraction 4/2...i just dont know

3^2 = 3*3 = 9
2^2 = 2*2 = 4
5 - square root of 25 (squareroot of 25 is 5) = 5-5 = 0
top bit is 9 + 4 x 0 = 0
8 - 4 = 4
2 + 2 = 4
bottom bit is 4 / 4 = 1
whole equation is basically 0 / 1 = 0

3^2 +2^2 * 5 -square root of 25
------------------------------...
8-4/ 2+2
I assume this is "3^2 +2^2 * 5 -square root of 25" divided by "8-4/ 2+2"
Work out each part separately, like 3^2 = 9 and 4/2 = 2
Now replace the numbers in the equation, remember the order of operations and you eventually get the answer, 3

first you do the equation on the top:
3^2= 9
2^2= 4
add those together and you get 13 and times that by 5:
13*5= 65
now the bottom:
4/2= 2
8-2= 4
4+2= 6
so then you have 65/6
and you can't reduce it so thats your answer

PEMDAS tells me to do parethases first... but there are none
So we move on to exponents.
3^2 = 5, 2^2 = 4, and sqrt(25)=5
9+4*5-5
Now multiplication & division
4*5 = 20
9+20-5
finally addition and subtraction
24
----------------------
Again, here there are no ( ) and no exponents, so move right on to multiplication and division
4/2 = 2
8-2+2
addition & subtraction
8
