I have 2 10 gal fish tanks I'm thinking about selling. They are on a 2-tier metal stand, and have all the accessories needed. They are still up w/fish right now. Have rocks, plants and everything. I dont know how much should I sale them for? Any serious, informed suggestions please.

When I need to sell something I check ebay to see what the going used price is. Also craigslist.org in your area will give you a good idea of the going rate in your area plus a good place to sell.

10 gallon fish tanks are often more novelties for children rather than the serious tank artist. Chances are, if it's setup for freshwater, you can get a new one from Target for around $30 bucks (minus the stand). Selling a used one with stock freshwater equipment should bring you around $20 a piece on the used market. Since the stand for both tanks, it might be difficult to find someone to purchase it as a group since most people want a 10 gallon tank for their child.

If it's a saltwater setup, the filtration and lights typically run more $$$ and you could probably find a buyer for a bit more cash.

Take a photo of the setup, go to your local specialty aquarium store and post a photo and advertise it as a possible quarantine environment. Most people who have large saltwater setups need this type of setup for sick fish or feeder fish for their larger ones. Without knowing exactly what type of tank, filter, lights, etc. Or without knowing how nice the stand is, I'd say you'll do well to get $100 for the entire setup.

They're probably worth 45-50 bucks each. Mabe 2 for 100? or just 1 for 50? hope this works!!

The used aquarium trade is not a happy one.Try advertising in your local free want ad paper, but don't expect to recover your investment.

Try adding 5 dollars to what you paid for them and there you go.
