I've thought that for a long time - it's too easy for the pitcher to dominate, and it makes for some pretty dull games. I have no problem with low scores, but I like to see players at least making contact, or presenting a challenge for a great pitcher.
At the high school level, I've seen kids who will pitch multiple no-hitters in a season because they're that much better than the competition.

Okay, I'm a softball player and i do agree that moving the mound back would make for an easier game, but then wheres the challenge. The girls on my team can always make contact at least. even if its not a good hit. To tell the truth i haven't seen many no hitters in my league actually this year there have been none. But you have to agree, softball is more fun than baseball.

They have moved it back 3ft its 46 ft thats far enough. It makes it more fun and if you think about it its perfect where its at because like a 65mph from there is like equivalent to 85mph baseball.
No way there is 20 strike outs in one game at most 15 thats rare thogh monica Abbott is like the only one that gets that, she is like the best pitcher I never seen any one get 20.
no! 3 hits maybe they dont get many but they get more then 3 hits.
(I am talking about college softball they were on ESPN so im guessing thats what you are talking about.)

I agree, although I think a better move would be to just let girls play baseball. Let them throw overhand and knock off this BS about modifying the rules for girls. I understand slowpitch softball which is great for recreation and for players who might not be able to hit fastballs. But fastpitch softball is a competative sport, if you can't handle it then don't play, so why do they need modifications like a bigger ball and underhand pitching?

I play on a bigger field than high school players and I'm in LittleLeague! Anyway, it's because even though the softball is bigger, it's harder to hit. Plus, it's just the sport regulations.

They are trying to protect the pitchers arms, and if they moved the mount back, then they would have to change the whole diamond.

I think where the mound is at right now makes the game more exciting. It makes the game more aggresive....definately more aggresive than baseball
