Constantly. There is no schedule of chlorination as it takes place as the water passes through the filtration system through automatic means.

public pools normally use automatic chlorination systems which distribute the chlorine to keep it at the same level all day long.

Chlorine kills harmful bacteria. It also keeps the pool clean by killing algae, which probably can't harm you unless you drink the water. But who wants to swim in a green pool? Chlorine also is used in private pools.

i think they do that first thing in the morning (say 6AM or 7AM...)
