I let my kids use my old PC for their games and wonder if it's necessary to keep the spyware?

Viruses were around long before the Internet came into existence. They can be transfered by floppy disk, CD, flash drives, etc.

However. with the Internet, nobody is writing viruses to transfer that way anymore. It would have to be a 10 year old virus or something. So it is unlikely that your computer would get infected.

Well if you have a spy ware then it's safe to let your kids play games in the Internet or a CD game, you could get a virus without Internet that is if a software or a game you are trying to install in your computer comes with it but as longest you have a spryware then don't worry about getting a vi ruse with Internet or a CD.

It's highly unlikely that they would get any viruses or spyware or anything like that if there is no net connection.

But with kids...anything is possible.

Technically, yes. But, it's much harder...it would have to be transferred by either a CD or floppy disk.

Yes, before the internet it was via floppy disks. Any exchangeable media will do it.
