I'm a 3 and willing to further myself. I like seeing my other half happy, and pleases me to see him enjoy a meal I cooked (even if he finds my rice crunchy). He always thanks me for the little things because I do them with effort coming from a background of burning and scorching. Though I'd like to see myself on 2 someday and better with most of these things... (",)

Yo, Inno!

Well, I married number 1 and we have had a good marriage for ten years now. I have a wonderful wife. She used to work as well, but didn't earn that much. And she had to take up all the chores, because I worked from 7 o' clock in the morning to 11 o' clock at night. I wasn't a very good husband at the time. And even when she worked more hours than me, she would still do most of the work at home.

Now, we work the same amount of hours and have the same amount of stress. And we became number 2. I take out the trash and that's a shitty job and she cooks dinner 4 times a week. The times we eat out, I have to pay because we manage our money differently. And SOMETIMES I wash the dishes.

I think we have a good understanding, but we do fight a lot about chores.

I DO BELIEVE TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE. That's why I strongly believe in marriage.

I liked number 1 for a while, but prefer number 2. We have gotten much closer when we started sharing chores.

1 and 4

I can't really cook "real" food: I can make any cakes or puddings and since I've started working again I tend to fall under 2, since I usually leave home at 5pm and only get back between 10:30 and 11:30 pm. Then we usually have take aways or a Royco Cup of Soup. I feel bad about that and I think that my fiancé'd prefer if I was a nr. 1, he wants me to stop working but I enjoy getting some money of my own.
If I'm really settled down I'd get hired help during the week, I see it as creating a job and helping a woman feed her children. Plus I will really do anything, even take out the trash, rather than washing dishes. Thank goodness for a dishwasher, couldn't live without it! lol

No 1 is the traditional role in a family which probably most men prefer if the family is financially secure. However, the modern woman doesnt want that role too often and a lot of quality time is sacrificed in the process. Meal times become what is available in the Supermarket that can be heated up quickly and children can suffer from not having their Mum around or if she is too tired to get involved. 21st Century women need to learn to cook as so few can and fastfoods are the modern lifestyle.

I'd prefer a corporate woman who came from a domesticated background. One who knows how to, and doesn't mind, handling all domestic duties. However; she now works and brings in enough money to afford to hire someone on a as needed bases when she or I are to busy with our professional, spousal, or parental duties. That way we would always have enough time to address any problem, in any area, but not become dependent on hired help. We would also be able to enjoy doing the domestic duties together, because we didn't have to do them when there's to many other things going on.

No.2
I love cooking, so don't mind doing that part, but I hate doing dishes - kitchen sinks are just not designed for taller individuals. It's a real pain in the back. Very unergonomic.

Interesting how many women answered this question...

A working proffesional, who can only boil eggs, make toast and put together a Mince Mate. Luckily I live at home and Mommy still does the cooking!!!
I'd rather help in the garden over weekends than help around the house, but I do my fair share of chores aswell.

Number 2, we split certain chores, I garden, wash the cars, wash the dishes, take out the rubbish bins and she irons, cleans the floors and does the laundry.
It works well for us and we seldom argue over housework, we had a maid for a year and a half who continually broke our appliances and stole our possessions, we will never have another.
I suppose I have the better deal.

Number 1 or 4.. Just as long as they help in some compacity. If I made enough money alone.. I would prefer 1. I mean, I do make enough.. but It is barely.. Wouldn't have much money in indulging in things we appreciate, like cable, internet, and eating out. These things to me are a necessity.

1. Very domesticated women who do everything.

My dream was to be a housewife, to look after and care for my family. For me being home and seeing to everyones needs is just fine and dandy.
I want nothing more and am very happy and content with my life.

I do study, but mostly languages and science and mostly just because I have a curious mind.
