my harddisk is detecting as primary slave, but when i boot it there is no response . can any one tell me how to make it primary master or can i resolve it by primary slave itself

To make it a primary master, make sure that the drive jumper is physically set to either "master" or "CS" (cable select). Make sure the drive (assuming you don't have SATA) is connected to the last IDE cable connector - on the end -and not the connector in the middle of the cable. Also the BIOS should be on autodetect for the hard drives.

Pri Slave/Master is set by the JUMPER on rear of the drive itself.

Set it to MASTER (read label on drive) and connect to END connector on the drive.

If the drive is a SATA one, plug it onto a different socket

how many hard disc's you have?
how your jumpper connections are configured? and buss connection?
with out this information how can a person answer?
ok try this.
if jumpper is removed then it acts as slave
see the stiker on the hard disc and you can configure it mannualy.
if it is helpless then
randomly set all configurations you will get it sure.(nothing will happen)
