I've seen the news story about the people who are putting together the group made up of size 16plus singers. I'm not at all passing judgement on them but I'd really like to know if they are ever going to be considered as anything other than figures of ridicule no matter how well they can sing. I think that we as a culture are too judgemental to give them anything other than freak status and that's a very sad reflection of society's attitudes.

If they have alot of talent, they may do well, people are fed up of ultra skinny celebs.

A group of talented singers with plus size figures is great! A group of singers trying to make a point about having plus size figures and still being talented only exacerbate the problem. People need to stop seeing size, and just see talent. Using size as a selling tool, is wrong.....big or small!

Well people need to get a grip then don't they, I'm size 16 plus and have never been called a freak because of my size and the first person that is rude enough to attempt such a nasty phrase to me will get short shrift, size doesn't matter but people do.

People will only ridicule them if they go out of the way to look silly or have terrible voices . If they are good ,people will see past their weight.
There`s lots of Singers who are big people we don't seem to notice their weight

It's a shame, cos they are probably very talented, but because, in the opinion of the mainstream media, they will not be seen as attractive, because they are not a size zero. It's a sad state of affairs, is it not?

Hope not i find big people,have less hang ups than skinny ones.
yea and I'm one off those skinny but never have i heard a large person say to my face you is anorexic,you need to eat .
BUT thin people have,and there the ones that society call normal,So to be normal i have to become average miss nasty remarks person no way.
and talent will prove it people ain't that easily brained washed,ARE THEY?LEAST THERE HEALTHY....

Tricky one a group composed entirely from plus size individuals may only serve to highlight their weight issues rather than allow people to appreciate them for their talents.
