You are all forgetting one of the biggest players in space. The European Space Agency, in collaboration with Russia, China, the US and Japan will finally would have to work together on this. This will be the ultimate goal of globalization!

The USA has plans to land on mars by 2019, but I think it SHOULD be a US/Russia/Japan(?)/China effort. (ISS)
