No, it happens in the big cities too. It is a people thing not a restaurant thing. It happens everywhere. It is up to you whether or not it is worth your time. My mother complains every single time her order is wrong. I pick and choose my battles. Good Luck

Hell yes it is worth it to complain!!!! I used to not give it a second thought and think don't sweat it and cause trouble. But you know what? I work damn hard for my money and if I ask for a burger to be plain or my fries are cold you bet your butt I am taking that stuff right back or if I am already at home and find my sandwich is messed up I call them. And to be honest if my fries are cold I want my WHOLE meal replaced. Why do I now want HOT and fresh fries to go with my now COLD sandwich? That's what I would have done if I were you. And if the Manager is going to be a prick about it then I'm saying "here take your food back, I just want my money back" Because if you don't it is going bug you that you DIDN'T say anything. And after the first time I did it I felt like I wasn't being taken advantage of for someone else's mistakes or incompetence or worse yet laziness.

Honey, it's not just McDonald's. All fast food places, at some point, hire people that don't really want to work and don't care about how well they perform their jobs.
Your experience was isolated and the McDonald's home office wants to know about it. They have training films on every activity in the store. They want you to know, whenever you see the golden arches, you can expect a certain level of consistency in the quality of the service and the quality of the food you purchase.
Assuming that you do not want the same experience in the future, complain. They can't read your mind. They don't know what you've experienced unless you tell them. Also, if you don't tell them, they don't have a chance to make it right for you.

Yeah, I've had problems, but most likely because I am from Decatur, Indiana lol. They don't make mistakes too often, but when they do it's usually like they forgot to put fries or a sandwich in the bag, that's why we always checked before we pulled away. I would complain - I've had to a few times.

Yes, I have had problems with my McDonald's order, especially with the drive-thru. I think they don't care as much because most people drive away and don't even check their order until they get home, and then don't want to drive all the way back. But usually the next time I go back, if I mention the oversight, they apologize and give me one of my items for free.
You should definitely email or write a letter to corporate about your experience. Be sure to tell them the place, time, and date of your visit. Be polite but firm, and use proper grammar if you want them to take your complaint seriously. They may send you coupons for a free meal or something.

I never found it worth the trouble. About the only time I go to McDonald's is when I am real hungry and it is the closest and fastest food. So, of course I never go back when they mess up the order.
Go ahead and file a complaint online. It couldn't hurt and it will make you feel better. Plus they need to know about this stuff.

You are not the only one. I live in SC and we told them not to put onions on two of the hamburgers, and we said it loud and clear and they still did. So they are not so well. I would file a complaint and actually go to DHEC or the state. because a lot of people have done complaints so many times and nothing has happened. They should just make McDonald's go etinct. I understand you.

i would have done the same thing. I would have written a letter to McDonald's Headquarters, and maid sure to describe to them how badly you were treated. Like said before, its just the people. In the Mc Donalds I eat at sometimes it is great and horribles at other times. I say complain, and yes it is worth the time, because it wasn't fair.

Calling the headquarters may get you some free vouchers. But I don't think the employees at the actual location are paid enough to care.

What are you doing eating at McDonalds in the first place? It's got to be the worst food on the planet. It is so unhealthy and it is made by people who hate their jobs and don't want to be there. If you have a child, you want to stay alive as long as you can, right? So forget about the incident and chalk it up as a sign telling you to run to a farmers market and get some veggies!
