Yes, I know its my favourite complaint....and so shall I further complain.
But how many of you actually "thumb" people fairly? Take an idiot like Ayiza, he talks kak most of the time, but makes good statements sometimes (but he'll get a thumbs down even if the statement did not deserve such), even a person like Sweet Angel who hardly ever miffs/pisses off anyone, gets thumbs down unneccesarily.... Are people getting a bit too thumb happy? Are we meant to now fall into the norms of RSA?
I mean I'd understand a thumbs down if I wrote "ET is the saviour of all and we have to worship him" not if I wrote "I prefer soccer to rugby!".... (I am aware outsiders also tend to stick in their noses/ or thumbs uneduvatedly)
Some people need a bit of growing up... really.

Knownow't- if I asked what flavour of ice cream you like and you said vanilla, then got a thumbs down for it.... wouldn't you think "WTF!?".... thats the kind of stuff I'm refering to. You hardly know me, but you're going to disagree that I like Vanilla flavoured ice cream? Isn't that in some way a tad bit off to you huh?

Porgie -Wow! And I'm sure the culprit could give an equally accurate answer right? Sheesh! It wasnt even a debatable statement, it was fact... from a person who knows.

Hallo there!!!!!!
OK so for some stupid reason I can't even give thumbs up OR down.... I've got an error on the page and don't know why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway................
Ja, I get that a lot, someone here (and I think we all know who) just doesn't like me, so even if I say HELLO, I will get a thumbs down!
But let me tell you girly, I just laugh, because obviously people read my stuff and if they don't like what I've got to say, SO BE IT!!!!! Obviously they are too scared to take one on in a hot steamy debate and only giving a teeny weeny little thumpsy down!!!! Boooooo hooooooo! (Am I suppose to be more careful of what I say??? Well I say: SAY WHAT???????!!!!)
And to that dumbas s whatwhat (or whatever), well, I think it would be fair to say WHAT EVER!!!!!
Inno, have a great day, with or without the thumbsup!!!!
(I would love to give you a star, but as you've seen above, NO CAN'T DO!!!! errorrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!)
Yeah ya scardy cats, bring on the thumbs down !!!!

Do you only go into the RSA sectiion ? In the other categories, there are many thumbs down for things that the people do not agree with. I have to agree with knownow*t, that if I give a thumbs down, then it means that I, (that is me, myself), do not agree that (for instance) vanilla ice cream is so great. If you had said chocolate, and I happen to like chocolate too, then I would give you a thumbs UP: Verstaan jy? Usoyazi?

Some people can be stupid...but then again, some people accidentally click the wrong thumb...it happens.
I'll admit, ayiza can get on my nerves...but I take time to read his answer, if i agree...maybe I'll thumb up, if I don't...i won't bother thumbing at all. If it totally pees me off, then ya.
Then you also get people who don't like some users and think the only way to be spiteful is thumbs downing...and reporting.

I tend to average between 6 and 10 thumbs down to each of my answers even when I am not sarcastic, luckily I'm not bothered by such crude behaviour, there will always be those in disagreement and those with differing opinions to that of yourself.
What does irritate me is as you say,is that users often thumb down without even reading the contributors answer.

Hello Inno!
I think some people carry grudges for some reason. I liked giving thumbs downs and -ups for that matter, but don't bother with either now.
I do think we may have stepped on some toes in the past and in doing so have created some enemies for ourselves. I just gave an answer I thought was pretty good, but it got a thumbs down as well. I admit I thumbs down some people that I don't agree with, but usually they don't have much to back up what they say. I would not thumbs down if they disagreed and had an essay or sources to back them.

i feel your pain Inno.
i really get p* off if a person gets a thumb down for just being yourself. but i try not to take it to personally. this is not a perfect world and not every one will like me or you or even ayiza for that matter.
the problem with us is that we expect every one to share our views on sport, life politics and more. and if you don't well then you are an outcast. in today's society you get thrown upon if you dare to think out the box.
*** there starts the thumb downs***

Someone gave 3 TD's for almost every answer to that sports question. See my answer to that question.
In general I'm liberal in giving TU's for good stuff, but will give a TU if a person writes bullsh!t.
