Not just any blood. I mean, I'm fine if i'm looking/feeling/TASTING blood from say, a leg or an arm.

The only place I can not BEAR to even see blood come from is "down below".

Once I saw it and I fainted.
The next time I vomitted.
The next time i did both.

Help me ! I don't have my period or anything (yet), but I'm 12, with all of the symptoms, meaning I will soon.

How do I get over my fear ?
It makes me vomit and faint !
I'm not scared of it ...
More like, freaked out !

Help !
(I feel like i'm going to vomit right now)

I can't just 'Get over it'. I'm not even scared, I just vomit and faint whenever I see it (provided that it's mine). It's mostly the smell. It's DISGUSTING. I really feel sick now ...

Maybe it's something psychological ?

Maybe it's about the time I got that needle and I fainted and vomitted .. ?

Or maybe it's something more ?

I wish I could see a therapist (I have many more issues) ...
But my parents won't let me.

You don't have much choice. Either get over it and get used to it (there really isn't much of a smell), or see a therapist who can help. Like it or not you will have to deal with it once you get it.

Well i am 13. Let me start out by saying that like you i am NOT afraid of looking/feeling/tasting blood. In fact, i want to become a cardiotharticic surgeon, so i get you.

I honestly dont have my period, but i can understand how you vomit. Your brain obviuosly controls your bodys actions, so keep trying to think off it as normal blood.

When you bleed from down below lol just think of it is a cut on ur upper leg, or dont even think about it period. Take deep breaths and stay calm. Soon enough you will get over it.

Unfortunately, only you can change your fear

This is a problem. Well you are obviously going to have to get used to it cause it will be a big part of your life. If you want counseling but your parents won't let you get help try seeing a school counselor. They might me able to help. Also if you have an older sister, friend aunt or some female that you trust besides your mom try talking to them. Who knows they might be able to help. Also when you do start your period try and see if your mom will make you an appointment for the gynocologist. Then you can try talking to your doctor. (don't worry if you ask them not to tell your mom what you talk about by law they can't). I hope I helped and good luck with everything! I really hope things get better! If you ever have any questions about anything or just need someone to talk to feel free to IM me!

i know i have a similar problem
i faint (or feel like fainting) when somebody talks about blood, when i see or when they take blood from me

but when u get your period, maybe at first it will look disgusting, but then u will get used to it
i still think it is disgusting
maybe search on Internet and learn what happens if you don't get ur period
believe side effects are much more horrible than seeing blood itself.
remind yourself that it is much much better to stand seeing blood from down below rather than not having ur period and having tons of other problems

My best friend had the exact same problem...but with her it was any blood. If she saw it or heard someone talk about it she would faint and she was dreading her period, but when it came she was fine. She still faints at blood, just not her own. I think it's your body's way of coping, hopefully the same will happen to you

My bestfriend Olivia had the same problem. She would faint or puke everytime she saw blood. She fainted in my house when she scraped her arm once and she threw up after she pulled her tooth. Once she got her period it seemed like the fobia disappeared. She never fainted or threw up when she saw blood. I think she got used to blood after she got her period. If your fobia doesn't go away I would go to a doctor to help you get over your fear nothing we tell you is going to help you. Good luck!

You need counseling and with time you will see that this is part and parcel of being a woman. There is nothing you can really do about it, but certainly share this with your Mom and then look at counseling to help you get over this phobia.

Baby you might as well get used to it because you are going to live with blood your entire life so get over it, especially with your mentral cycle thing it's nothing new.

Honey, you're gonna have to buck up and get over it, because you just don't have a choice. You're looking at about 40 years of menstruation, and you can't be a featherhead about it.
