A pharmacist fills precriptions and makes sure the doctor didn't prescribe something that will kill or otherwise seriously harm the patient because they're the expert on drugs and doctors aren't. They hold a doctorate too so they're not a lower class, despite what most of the public thinks.

Physician is just a general term for doctor. There are many different types of physicians. Because of HMOs, a general medicine physician can make less than a pharmacist.

A surgeon operates on people. Many different types of surgeons. However, all surgeons went through more training than a general medicine physician.

The type of education they receive for one, and as someone else said a Pharmacist fills prescriptions written by a Dr., a Surgeon is a Dr. with more education in that chose to specialize in surgery.

Pharmsists only fulfill prescriptions.

Physicians treat ailments and fill out prescriptions for medicine.

Surgeons perform surgery.
