According to Greek mythology, Icarus was the well-loved son of a great inventor. The inventor created wings which he could use to fly, and also made a pair for his son. As they flew together, he warned his son not to fly too high. Icarus ignored him, and the wax which was holding the feathers on the wings together began to melt from the heat of the sun. The wings came apart, and Icarus fell to his death.
Pandora was a maiden who was given a box which contained all the evils of the world. She was told by the gods not to open it, but her curiousity got the better of her, and she opened it to see what all was inside. A soon as she did, the evils came pouring out of the box and across the world. Only one thing remained in it--hope.

Icarus:
was the son of the artificer Daedalus. Icarus was famous for his death by falling into the Icarian Sea near Icaria, the island southwest of Samos that still bears his name,[1] when he flew too close to the sun, melting the wax holding his artificial wings together.

Cross-stitchKelly is right.
It's Greek Mythology - study it if you're really "into" Greeks now.
