I liked Charlotte's Web, The Borrowers, The Black Stallion books. My son enjoys hearing Roald Dahl, Geronimo Stilton, Stuart Little. . .

It changed as I grew up but Whinnie the Pooh (A.A. Milne) has ALWAYS been there. Others include:
The Muddle Headed Wombat (Ruth Parke)
The Narnia Chronicals (C.S. Lewis)
Dinotopia (James Gurney)
The Temper Tantrum Book
What To Do With a Kangaroo
some Enid Blyton book and anything by Roald Dahl were also good reads.
I don't have children but the kids I've babysat I've introduced to some of these.

Wind in the Willows and yes I did read it to my children. Their favourite was "Governor Goofer and the Power Station Gang" A very funny book about a group of cats.

Th Hobbit, my dad read it to me and I have loved it ever since.
He tried to read Lord of the Rings but I was too younge. I did read it and in total I read it about 12 times. Then the movie came out. Well everyone knows the rest.

Hans Christian Anderson fairy tales, I love that book even now and read it to my little great nephews and nieces as I have no children of my own.

"Where The Wild Things Are" and yes, I read it to my kids. Also, all of the Little Bear stories.

i loved all the famous five books by enid blyton i bought one for my ten year old daughter thinking she would enjoy it as much as i did but she hated it she much rather read jaqueline wilson
