Why don't women understand the concept of honesty?

Question

Your wife asks you if a certain dress makes her look fat.
She doesn't want honesty. She wants you to tell her what she wants to hear.
I once sent a dozen roses to a woman who was a friend of a friend of mine. On the card, I had the florist write "Hi, this is John Doe. Would like to take you out to dinner. If interested, be at the Cottage Cafe friday night at 6pm. I will be already there at a table. If NOT interested....do nothing. Do NOT show up. I prefer it this way."
That night I got a table and waited. She walked in and sat down and for the next 30 minutes she explained to me why she didn't want to go out with me. Meanwhile, I ordered drinks and dinner for myself. When I asked her why she showed up, she said it was the decent thing to do. I said no, the decent thing was to do as I asked in the note.
To make matters worse, I found out later that the reasons that she gave me were all lies.
Why can't women just be honest?

It's funny how they say they want honesty from men/boys but it doesn't appear to be much of a two-way street with them.

They hide behind make-up and clothes designed to alter their appearance. They play games in trying to get the guy to ask them out or admitting that he likes her first, instead of coming out and saying it themselves. What it all comes down to is that they want the guy to make himself vulnerable to them without having to do the same, so that they approach every situation in a superior position. Or so they think. Screwing around with a guy like this can cause them to lose ground with him, as there is only so much of it he will ever put up with.

The woman who showed up didn't do it to do the decent thing, she did it as a selfish gesture as she was only concerned about what she wanted and not you. She wanted to see who sent the flowers, she wanted to quell any further pursuits by him if he wasn't who she wanted him to be, she wanted to be in total control of the situation. It was all about her.

And watch for all of the thumbs down I'll receive from all of the women who don't want an honest answer.

Well first of all that was really romantic. It's too bad it didn't work out. I wouldn't let this discourage you though. She obviously wasn't the right woman for you.

I think that because of what happened, you're a little frustrated with woman at the moment and are generalizing them. Sure every woman wants to hear how good she looks in a new outfit, but that doesn't mean she's dishonest. Women want a self-esteem booster every now and then, and having a man say "No way does that make you look fat. You look great" makes her feel good.

You want honest? OK.

The absolute last thing most women want in a relationship is a dispassionate, unemotional observer who "calls them like he sees them". They want a partner who tells them what the honestly "feel" and not necessarily what the honestly "see".

Sending flowers to ask a woman out for a date with instructions on what she should do or not do is a sign that you have difficulty dealing with emotions and feelings. You don't say what she said were her reasons, but I admire her trying to open a dialog about your peculiar methods of human interaction.

properly, not all women human beings are like that. some men are like that too. anyhow, human beings lie with the aid of fact they sense threatened or they're attempting to hide something (of course). some human beings in simple terms lie with the aid of fact that is much less complicated for them too; in different words, they only sense like that what they have certainly finished is erroneous, that is talked approximately as self doubt, which often links to shallowness problems. Ditch liars, I advise people who continuously lie, or lie some vast subject.

if i ask if i look fat in this, its because i want to know so i dont go out looking yuck, not for you to patronize and lie to me

I'm a guy, but I don't find men being honest all the time either. ^_^ Sorry my fellow brothers, I'm just being honest!

I don't think women are dishonest ALL the time, they just couldn't accept the truth.
