We have a wireless usb adapter, and I love it, works fine
Walmart prices are reasonable, and they offer the same goods that the better known stores do, but if you are quick and lucky you can go somewhere like Fry's and get it really cheap, but you have to be there when the sale first starts, because they usually have limited quantities and they go fast.
sometimes Office Depot will have a coupon sale mostly comes out on Sunday hope this helps

They work fine. However, as with any wireless network - make sure security for wireless networks is in place by following the router's instructions.
You do realize that the wireless network adapter is only part of the wireless network - you still need the wireless router.

My D-Link G-122 USB Wifi adapter cost me less than $40. I've been using it for about a year. It's been 100% reliable. I get very good signal(54Mbps) at the 2nd floor even though router at first floor is at medium power setting only and encrypted.
