Ben Wallace is not going into the HOF.
A previous answer indicated that he is one of 3 players to average 15 reb/game and 3 blocks/game during a seaons... this is not true...
Gilmore, Jabbar, McAdoo and Elvin Hayes all did that as well. And Wallace obviously doesn't belong in that group...and Gillmore himself isn't even in the HOF, and he was 10 times the player that Wallace is.
By picking two stats like that and setting only minimum standards, with no maximums, you can always get a group of players that fit your "hall of fame" criteria, and at the same time eliminate a bunch of players who just fall short of that particular criteria.
If we look at players who averaged 14 rebounds and 2 blocks per game in a season, all of a sudden we have:
Gillmore
Hayes
Jabbar
Ben Wallace
Moses Malone
Bob McAdoo
Bill Walton
Sam Lacey
Nate Thurmond
Caldwell Jones
Mutumbo
Olajuwon
Some of these guys did this several times, not just once.
(btw, anyone think this makes Caldwell Jones a Hall of Famer?)
Using 14 rebounds and 2 blocks per game, we can see that Wallace is near the bottom of that group, in terms of HOF qualifications.
Besides, blocks have only been an official stat since 1974, a year after Wilt retired. Had blocks been an official stat in the 60s, guys like Wilt, Russell, Reed, Bellamy, etc would have accomplished the 15/3 trick, plus a lot more, making Wallace's "accomplishment" even more insignificant than it already is.
Placing a player "in a group" of players who accomplished a certain set of statistical accomplishments is only meaningful if the player you're talking about (Wallace) is as good as the other players he's "grouped" with. In this case, Wallace is (by far) the worst player to ever average 15 reb and 3 blocks per game, so you can't include him in a group with guys like Jabbar, McAdoo and Hayes.
Ben Wallace will not go into the HOF. Trust me on this.
Plus, you people need to forget about Horry going in... his 7 rings speak more about Olajuwon, Drexler, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Parker and Ginobli than they do about Horry... besides, if Horry goes in merely because of the 7 rings, then we also need to put Satch Sanders (8) and Jim Luscutoff (7) in... they both have as many or more rings than Horry, and they're still on the outside looking in... If Horry does make it, it'll only be because of media hype, and not because of what he did on the court.
As I've said many times, a team with Robert Horry as its best player would never make the playoffs, even if it played in the Eastern Conference in 2007.

first of all, we have to discuss this. What makes you a hall of famer? First is the effect when you are in the league. You will never be in HOF if you are just nothing. The stats, this is the most intriguing. You may have the stats but youre team is always on the lottery you may not get the nod. This is a no no. Here is my list:
1. Shaq O' Neal - the most dominant player in the league during his prime. the backbone of the Lakers dynasty. Bring a nondescript Orlando to the finals. 13 consecutive 20 and 10 plus 4 championship rings and one time MVP. no one in the planet could stop this man though injuries and freethrows are awful.
2. Tim Duncan- the best at his position, 4 rings 3 finals MVP, 2 reg. MVP. leads the league by example. cool, calm and still collecting. 10 all nba and defensive team. who knows how many championships he will get?
3. Steve Nash- despite a slow start early in his career. He has shown why he is in the NBA. 2 time MVP, lead a 36 game turnaround for the phoenix. The only player to make his teamates ave a career high in points when he is in the team. A good role citizen also.
4. Kevin Garnett - 20 10 5 for 6 consecutive years. 1 time MVP. emotional leader and lead his team to playoff for 8 consecutive year(early playoff exist though) the most versatile forward. The only player to ave 20 10 5 2 2 in the history of the NBA
5. Dirk Nowitzki - the 7 feet player shooting bombs away in the 3 point line. lead the dallas to a finals appearance. though a known a choker, he is still the best jum shooting big men since larry legend.
6. Allen Iverson - the quickest player in the NBA, proved that small men can be a big scorer since tiny archibald. 4 time scoring champ and 1 time MVP. lead a totally non descript sixers to 2001 finals, the only team to defeat the lakers in 2001. Holder of numerous records. perhaps owner of the best crossover in the league. just ask antonio daniels.
7. Kobe Bryant - the scoring machine of the NBA. holder of different record including 3 points/freethrows and scoring. holder of 3 rings with Lakers. 2 time scoring champ. NO player has ever scored as many as kobe exept for jordan and wilt. all star member since birth. the poster boy of the nba before the rape thing. could be considered a prodigy.
8. Dikembe Mutombo- no player has ever patrolled the lanes without their shot getting blocked by mutombo. 11000 rebounds and 3000 blocks. only select players has that career stat. think of big ben with more offensive moves and taller. 4 time DPOY. member of the denver team that beat the the no.1 sonics team. talking about upset.
9. Gary Payton - the glove, no player terrorrizes other point guard other than the glove. 9 straight all defensive first team and no one did that besides jordan. 1 ring is enough to cement him here 20000 points 8000 assists and 2000 stls.
10. Jason Kidd - the most versatile point guard in Nba history since magic. a walking triple-double man. lead Nets to back to back finals appearance. could be the best point guard but his % didnt show it.
** other could be member
Ray Allen - the best pure shooter in the NBA. the most 3 point shots in one season.
Robert Horry - clutch men. holder of 7 rings even jordan cant claim that!
Ben Wallace - blue collar worker. a menacing defence in the paint. Offense?? still a liability..

I'm sorry, I just looked at some of the answers given, and WHAT? Lebron James?????? He's played for four years, are you people INSANE? He could break his leg tommorrow and never play again! The question was 10 players who are a LOCK for the hall of fame. That means that if they retired tommorrow they'd be in for sure. You retarded fanboys, be realistic!!!!!
Here's my list...
1.)Shaq-I don't think I really need to say much here except that he does have four titles in six trips to the finals. Oh yeah, also he's Shaq.
2.)Mourning-he's the franchise leader in points and blocks for the Miami Heat, was once the second most dominant center in the NBA, is a great ambassador to the game, and since he championship hopped and won a ring there's really no good argument against him being in.
3.)Allen Iverson-again I don't think that there's much to say, his stats obviously are good enough even though he doesn't have a ring.
4.)Kevin Garnett-he is the entire T'Wolves franchise, helped usher in the High School player age, which is good by the way because of the huge amount of good to great players in the NBA who never went to college.
5.)Tim Duncan-not only is he a sure Hall of Famer, he will probably be considered the greatest p[ower forward in NBA history.
6.)Jason Kidd-he'll probably break Magic's triple double record, I think he's like thirty away or something, and he may average a triple double for a season (he was very close this year.)
7.)Gary Payton-His career stats aren't really very impressive (16ppg, 7apg, 4rpg), but he did have stretch of eleven straight years where he averaged 19 ppg, 7apg, and 5 rpg which should be enough to get him in, plus the championship he won last year and the fact that he's always been one of the better defenders in the NBA.
8.)Kobe Bryant-he has the stats, the love from the media, the championship rings, and all that he really needs to get in. He could retire today and be in, he'll reach the twenty thousand point mark next season.
9.)Sam Cassell-his averages are 16 ppg 6apg and 3 rpg for his career, with highs of 20-9-5 so the stats are there (15 thousand career points and almost 6 thousand assists). He also won two championships and he wasn't just a retread on those two Rockets teams, he averaged 10-4-3 on them as a reserve. I know he looks like an alien and all, but he's still an H.o.F.'er.
10.)Clifford Robinson-he more than has the stats (he'll score his twenty thousandth point next season) he averaged at least 14 ppg for ten straight years with three 20 ppg seasons, two eighteen ppg seasons, and a couple of 166 ppg seasons. His career ppg is only 14.2, but keep in mind that he hasn't averaged more than 10 ppg the last five seasons, and he hasn't started more than 29 games in that time. He's mainly just holding on like Moses Malone did, trying so hard to get that ring.
So there you go my ten locks. There are others that are close in my opinion, Ray Allen is one, some who may be...in ten years if they're still around, Lebron and Carmello for all you idiots. Then there's Robert Horry. I want to explain why I left him off. His career stats are not impressive 7-5-2 with less than one block. His playoff numbers aren't impressive either, 8-6-2. I know he has seven rings, and he's hit a bunch of clutch shots, but so did John Paxson (who actually has the second highest fg percentage in finals history). Rings don't make you a hall of famer, at least they haven't yet for Steve Kerr who has 5, or Horace Grant who has 5, or (worst of all) Dennis Rodman who was one of the greatest rebounders and defenders in NBA history and he has 5 rings. You have to have a combination of the two, stats and rings. In this age of media over-hyping and over saturation, Horry may very well be a hall of famer (which is crap by the way because you will never convince me that he's better than Rodman) when it's all said and done, but I couldn't say he's a lock so I left him off.

Tough to pick any locks cos by lock I figure on it being someone who you'd expect to see as soon as they become HOF eligible, but here goes...
1) Shaq. Naturally. Kind of a gimme, tho, since he's near to retiring. But you know he'll be in.
2) Tim Duncan. He'll be there. Backbone of this ohmygodsowonderful new dynasty.
3) Kobe. I admit, I don't like the guy. But his talent and accomplishments are undeniable. He'll get in
4) Allen Iverson. Will the tats and thug stuff keep him out of the HOF, too??? I think not.
5) Yao. He brought China to the NBA! (no offense to Wang Zhi Zhi!).
6) Jason Kidd. Great skills, a good team leaer. And tho he's faded lately and been mired in wife-drama, he's still an NBA great who should make the HOF someday
7) Lebron. It's gonna be awhile, but barring a career ending injury or meltdown, Lebron will lead his team(s) places and will live up to this hype.
8) Chauncy Billups. He's been PG'ing the Pistons to great success the past few years. If he can keep it up, he'll have a shot at getting in.
9) Steve Nash. For me, he is a maybe. I worry he'll end up like the last big name to end his career with the Suns without a title in hand (maybe they can be a new TNT commentating team)
10) Now for my long pick. Emeka Okafor. WAY down the road, after he fully develops into a dominant big man in the NBA and has a fruitful career, he will earn a slot in the hall. That's my prediction!

Absolute Locks IMO would be:
Shaquille O'Neal
Steve Nash
Kevin Garnet
Tim Duncan
Koby Bryant
Allen Iverson
Jason Kidd
Strong Cases:
Ray Allen
Vince Carter
Tracy McGrady
I would place Lebron James way up the list, but he is only 4 years into his career. He will most definatly be HOF if he continues playing at this level, but it is still too early to place him as a lock, IMO.

My locks imo would be as follows!!
Kobe Bryant !! 3 Championships, 9 time allstar. 2 time allstar.
Tim Duncan!! 4 championships, 1st team Offense,1st team Defense most of carreer, Several time Finals, Allstar and LEague MVP recipient
Shaquille Oneal, 4 time Champion, 6 times reached the finals, Has several kinds of MVPs to his collection.
Jason Kidd.! Is in the top of the list in carreer triple doubles, Has been to the FINALS twice. Has been a multiple time NBA FIRST TEAM several times.
Allen Iverson!!! Multimetime Scoring champion, has been to the finals once. Is among leaders in assist and steals almost annually consistently throught out the year.
Yao Ming!!! Just on the impace he has had on the game international makes him a lock for the MVP award. Even if he gets injured next year , he will still get the AWARD.
Gary Payton!!! Who can forget the glove, Multimple Allstar selection and Defensive team selection aswell. Has been to the finals with 3 diffrent clubs in his carreer.
Alonzo Mourning deserves a mention. Making it far in the playoffs throught out his carreer and the leader of the early feared HEAT. Also contributed to his legacy by winning a championship.
Steve Nash!! I was comtemplating this one, but any player that gets a 2 MVP awards regardless of his legacy or past stats is deserving of Hall of Fame Honors. Just winning to MVP AWARDS should give you a lock !!! Off all the retired past MVPs,......all of them became locks for the Hall of fame. Just think about that one. Why shouldnt Nash be deserving of his induction? I bet the people responsible for inducting people into the hall of fame arent going to want an MVP winner not to be in the hall of fame. It would tarnish the NBA MVPs image and the Hall of fames aswell.
Dirk Nowitski!!! Enough said, i dont think why he shouldnt make the Hall of fame, 1 time MVP Winner, Lead his team to the NBA FINALS and also one of the best records in history(4th) Multiple All-star through his carreer, 1st and 2nd Team selection through out his carreer.
These players below are for sure NBA Future Hall of famers but knowing how early in the carreer Lebron James is , he might get injured next year and never play again. But i still think it was a lock for LBJ.
11.th Lebron James multiple all nba team selections on offense and defense, multiple ALLSTAR, among the leader in several key statistics in points, assist, rebounds, etc ! And he took his team single handedly to the NBA FINALS in just his fourth year at the tender age of 22 years old.
12th: Kevin Garnett: This one I felt needed to be in the hall of fame. Maybe instead of Steve Nash. But Nash has 2 MVP awards.
