I just bought a second remote for my Wii but if I play two player, then one after and try and switch the second controller off it switches the console off. Also last night it wouldn't switch off at all, it isn't the batteries as they are new, and the remote works fine during play. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Don't switch the 2nd controller off - It will power down if unused for a couple of minutes. If the 2nd controller has no lights then it's off - as soon as you press a button on it ( and the wii is on) then it powers back up.

Yes--the power button on the remote is the power button for the console. The controllers themselves will power down automatically after a couple minutes of not being used, so when you're done, just set it down. The console is responding to the controllers just like it should. :-)

thats because there isn't a controller switch off button, you leave it and it turns itself off, therefore if you don't leave it it won't turn off.

Its not a 360!
