Does anyone know where or how I would start to build my own daycare?

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

First off - place an ad locally plan on doing this a few times.
Interview anyone who comes over and lay out your schedule IN STONE - as people can and will take advantage.
IE you are open 7-6 any time before is this amount.
You get one warning - ??-
What do you provide besides a loving time (diapers, wipes, food, arts crafts)...
Start to hand out flyers and talk up your need for your new venture. Be sure you looked in to how many kids you can have before you need a license - good luck.

The first step is to prepare a business plan. Even if you will not be applying for a bank loan, a business plan helps you to think through your business - what it needs, who it will benefit, how much it will cost, and what is its potential.
