Why do terrorists never take black hostages?

Back in revolutionary Iran in 1979, the students released African-American hostages in a show of "solidarity." Even today whenever hostages are taken they are rarely, if ever, black. Do terrorist believe little value is taken of black hostages? Or do they do so in a show of "solidarity?"

Perhap if they are taking American hostages I could see that, after all Black Americans put up this persona of victimization, as if they are denied full citizenship or something. This is of course completely invalid but just the same,the terrorists themselves are often also using a false sense of victimization to justify their actions. Therefore there should be a sense of solidarity,two groups that justify their way of looking at the world,because they choose to believe they are victims.
