Passion is defined by my love. In the relationship with my significant other, even when the plumbing isn't functioning when I am old, the love will still be there.
I am passionate about my children, because I love them and I want what is best for them.
I am passionate about being a teacher in a pre-school classroom, because I love that particular age, because that is really when children are the most impressionable. I want to be one of the positive influences in a multitude of future leaders.

Since you give two choices I would say my passion defines my love. As in, once I love, passion expresses my love. But lack of passion does not in flawed logic result in lost love.
