If you're really sad you generally want to sleep the day away. And sitting around or laying around all day will make you feel more sad and cause you to want to lay around more. That's how being depressed works. Most would say it's better for you to get up and out and do something. It'll make you feel better.

Did you sleep the day away yesterday? If you're sad and want to sleep once every couple of months, or year, OK. Talk to someone about what's bothering you if any more. Problems are never as bad as they seem and they won't go away if you just lay there. :)

It may SEEM good at first but just gonna have you up all night and throw your sleep cycle all out of wack. The BEST thing I found to do when I feel like this is to stay active. Surround yourself woth activites and people you love. My absolute favorite pick me up is to go get my hair and nails done and splurge on a new outfit. Hey how can you be bummed out when you are looking hot! :-) Just remeber this too shall pass, life is too short so be sure to enjoy it!

No way! I find that If I just mope around when I'm sad it takes a whole lot longer for me to cheer up than if I do something more constructive. I like to write poems, draw pictures, and take walks. Maybe call up a friend who you haven't talked to in a while and arrange a lunchdate.. anything to get your mind off what's got you so sad.

It may not be good, but it's a natural tendency.
You should get up and do something to occupy your mind and your time. Sleeping too much won't make the problem go away.
Just my 2 cents!
Hope you find happiness soon!

When I'm really sad or depressed, I usually beat the crap out of a pillow, then fall asleep on it.

It seems like a way to avoid your feelings and the situation and circumstances that caused them. When you wake up things will be the same.

no, but sometimes we have to do that to regroup. I have done this before but I wouldn't recommend this on a daily basis. Then I would think there was something seriously wrong with this person.

No, the opposite is true - keep busy, it helps to avoid things going from bad to worse (depression).
Good luck!
