What exists is there whether it's seen or not. So, they " do exist independent of any observer " as you stated.

They have independent existence. It is your "experience" of reality that is affected by your observer status.

Either you are at the mercy of your learned identity and are reacting as you've been imprinted to do or you have transcended that mentality and are no longer misperceiving reality - neither fearing nor attached to anyone else's reactions.

We tend to be a mixture of both until the "observer" is stabilized and unconscious causality comes to an end.

"That all of our knowledge begins with experience, there can be no doubt. But that does not mean all of our knowledge ARISES out of experience."
The object still exists. Thats a stupid question. I don't care how long it's been asked, it's stupid.

When children, at the ages of about 6 months, play peek-a-boo, when your head is under the blanket, they think you disappeared, then suddenly you're back out of nowhere...but by 1 years old, they basically get the idea that you are still there. There is philosophy and there is b.s. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, yes it made a noise.

I hate that question.

Oh no, they're just some figment of your imagination... but you're question pales to utter insignificance to the fact that I'm blind!
