If I didn't think he/she could talk about it with you, I would mail him/her either a bottle of deodorant or a bar of deodorant soap, with his/her own return address on it.

If you think he/she can talk about it, I would be as tactful as possible. I might start with an embarrassing situation you had and how someone helped you by talking about it with you because he/she cared, and then I would lead into the conversation with him/her about it as gently as possible, and of course I would not have anyone else present.

If he/she gets upset about it, I would stay calm and say "I just told you because I care.".

Very interesting question.

If I were you, I wouldn't tell. It can do a lot of harm for the person if you tell, so it is best that you let them discover for themselves or have someone else tell them. It may be a good idea to put them in a position where they are forced to tell you themselves that they do not wear deodorant. Maybe if you are really brave, you should try smelling your own armpits and say, "Wow, I really smell today. I really need deodorant." There are a couple of things that the victim can do. He/she can either agree with you, when you know it is O.K. to now make fun of them in a joking way. They can also say that you do not smell, and you could tell them that they obviously can't smell B.O. when it's around. That might give them a clue. The third thing that they can do is admit to their smell and that they need deodorant. That will make you aware that they know of their smell. Hope this helped!

If it's a coworker I would ask someone in upper management to talk to the person. If it's someone you know on a personal level I would politely tell that person. Some people have a medical problem that causes this, not a lack of hygiene.

If it is a constant condition tell them in the least embarrassing way possible. For example, I am sorry to talk to you about such a delicate matter but, I thought it would be easier on you if I brought it to your attention before someone else did. If its a co-worker let the boss do it.

That's tough. I never could tell anyone that. You might want to give them an anonymous note. Tell them what the problem is, but in a polite manner so they don't think someone is just trying to be mean.

I would anonymously send them a little care package of soaps and deodorants, that way they get the message, without being embarrassed, and maybe getting mad at you.

I would not be blunt and say "you smell bad". I would be more discreet and ask something like, have you used a certain afterbath product? Then say, you should try it, I think you will like the fresh clean smell.

depends on how close i am to the person. If the person is generally insecure, i probably look for a nice way to put it across.

Be direct. Tell them the truth.

I probably wouldn't. I would leave the area though to prevent vomiting.
