and needs to be taken down a peg or two.

The reason Im saying this is in one of his interviews he called all the other drivers ''the monkeys behind''. They dont deserve to be called that.

I think it's a shame that people have to slag him off rather than be able to admire his talent. As it has just been pointed out, he is kicking the behind of the current double worldchampion in an identical car and Alonso is clearly sulky about that and not handling it very well. Tough!

Lewis Hamilton is not at all arrogant and if you listen to him, he always refers to "us" rather than "me" therefore always sharing credit with his team. I'd love it if he won the championship and he deserves to cos he's doing such a great job

I dread him making his first mistake or having his first engine fail cos unfortunately the media will love it

Totally agree with Jamand. We seem to have a winner, and, boy, do we need a winner. I think we can safely say that Sports Personality of the Year 2007 will be Lewis Hamilton. So let's back him all the way, show our support for him, and not start to take him down a peg or two. Because if we do, then he'll be what Tim Henman is to tennis, and England is to soccer..........also rans.

If you was trying to win a race and other drivers where slowing you down because they are not bright enough to let you take over I think you would call them something?
Especially Trulli he is being a right prick at the moment!
In America everyone was praising Lewis for being so down to earth!

I also think you need to listen to what other drivers have said in the past! Look at Kimi last year wehn Shuey retired!

I do not think Lewis Hamilton would have called the other drivers "the monkeys behind".

However, i do agree with you that the "Lewis Hamilton Bubble" will burst.

Lady luck has not just been smiling at him, but seems to be entwined with him, so some moves he has made which were audacious have come off and he had had the devil's own luck with reliability issues, safety car etc.

So, it will happen and the sooner it happens, the better so that we have a open season in the championship

Dont hold your breath for him to be taken down a peg or two; he's a fantastic driver, young enough to be around a long time, and deserves to feel arrogant. Cut him some slack, you'de get a swelled head too, if you had his talent and luck. I love him, and I've not taken an interest in formula 1 since Ayrton Senna (god bless him) died. It's great to take an interest again.

Im sure he didnt mean to cause offence to the slower drivers in the poorer cars languishing at the back of the track. He is an exceptionally talented driver who, in my opinion, is driving by far the best car on the track week in week out. He isn't "big headed" as you put it, merely confident in his own abilities and that of his team in producing a top notch car and delivering the points at the end of it.

He shouldn't be dissing the tail-enders, that i agree with, but all drivers do it, it is a perennial problem to front runners. Isn't it refreshing to hear a driver be openly p!ssed off at his fellow profesisonals?
I think he will find lapping some of them a little more difficult in the future!

he is not big headed, in fact he is a lovely lad who always has time for his fans. it goes without saying that he will crash, or his engine might blow up, but i don't think that will burst the bubble. he is the most promising thing to have come into F1 of late. he won at GP2, so he is talented. Ron recognised that fact a long time ago and that is why he is in the best team.

So, once again it starts - we have a realistic contender for the F1 World Championship - home bred - UK boy - and you are already starting to slag him off in the hope that he fails - How many times do we see this - someone starts doing well that is UK born and the people can't wait to start knocking him and bringing him down - hoping above all hope that he fails.

I for one can't think of anything he has said that hasn't been said a thousand times before by other drivers - may be not in the same words but the feeling was the same.

If you don't like what is going to be said - then don't watch.
