according to me it will cause homozygous recessive characters to come together as in case of muslims. for eg say if u r dark and your husbands mom or dad is dark u cannot expect ypur child to be fair. same will be with height, colourblindness, haemophillia, sugar, uric acid, etc. but if it is first marriage in your family b/w cousions it may be 75-85% safe. if it is not first one it may be 0% safe. not only in ur child but in future generation it will cause problem.

Since a nephew and an uncle aren't legally of the same 'immediate' family like father and son would be, their relationship wouldn't be of legal concern. Two brothers would be too close to legally marry, though they COULD still have a relationship, if the laws so spoke. Same-sex marriage is still too young for inter-familial laws to have come up. Not many brothers might want to marry outside of Arkansas.

I have seen relatives who get married have kids with birth defects.

It's not a good idea....

but sometimes it's alright.

It depends on if ur Uncle's wife is the same blood as ur family.

What I Mean Is that it only matters if this is a Second generation marriage w/ the same blood....
is that too confusing? Or do u get it?
:)

you are talking about your first cousin. It's called "inbreeding". Yes, it can cause problems. There is a family in a nearby town, with funny shaped heads, and another family that acts like they're all twisted. (they just ain't "right" !)

dna problem , as other people have explained. but more than that it is an attitude problem, Muslims mostly marrty their first cousines. in Andhra the first choice for the girl is her Mamaji. so who will decide what is wrong and what it right ?????

Yes, it is called inbreeding. When their genes are too related/close, the offsprings will not be of superior health and form. They will be mentally inferior too.
