I'm thinking the deputy (John Prescott) will, he too is leaving the cabinet after this, so he may just watch over as a sort of honorary role. But trust me, if anything major happened between those two dates, Tony Blair would go right back and be prime minister, at least until the crisis was over.

It's a weekend and Parliament is closed up . As mentioned their is a number 2 in temporary charge or Blair can step back in. They do have a figurehead Queen but she is no slouch. She or Charles could take over, even Phillip as he is the head of the military there.

Considering Blair frequently goes on hols for weeks at a time i dont think a couple of days without a pm will matter too much

Who cares - I think the world population can do without a british PM for a few days - security at airports and elsewhere will remain the same.

Unless you feel your life is threatened, and your doctor does also. There is no reason why not to keep working. I was military and worked uptil the day I went in to labor. Lots of women work until up to their point of labor pains and etc. I would ask your doctor if you think you should stop working there, but 4 hours is good though. Your not over exerting yourself.
