I'll be honest, there has been a few incidents in my life where it's been very hard to forgive and forget, but I worked through it and did it. Even when it's hard to do, it's always better to forgive. If you don't, the resentment will eat away at your spirit, and at the same time, not affect the other person at all. So it's you that suffers for it, and it's not worth it.

Most people confuse forgivness with absolution. The act of forgivness does nothing for the one you forgive but for yourself. Forgiveness releases the grip of hatred, fear and disgust of the other person and allows you to be free again. Yes I forgive and forget easily.

Yes, I do easily forgive, sometimes forgetting is hard. We all carry the memories and scars of times we have been hurt, do we not?

My Dad is still living, and 83. He was in WW2. There are nights he still has bad nightmares about it all. He's forgiven everything, but the memory of it all lives on in his mind.

I saw a message board that said something that is noteworthy on the subject of forgiving. As you read this, you will discover something wrong with your question.

"Forgiving doesn't make the other person right. It frees you."

Forgive, yes. Forget? Not so easy for me. I try not to hold a grudge, but I don't want to get burned a second time, either.
I'm still trying, I'm a work in progress.
