I think there are push and pull factors at work. What pulls us to be attached to this world is the comforts that our senses derive from being in this world. It could be love of friends and loved ones or it could be the pleasures that we derive via our physical senses. What pushes us away from death is the uncertainty of what lies beyond awaiting when one leaves this world. If any one knew for sure that it was going to be better there, death might indeed be welcome. But no one is sure! John Donne may have eulogised death in his poem but that has not lifted the thick veil of uncertainty from its nature.

It is true that all of us have to die one day, but, that date being unknown, every body wants to take advantage of this. Every one thinks that it is not his turn this time and that is why , he tries to hide himself from truth. Each one of us is so frightened from the life after death that we do not even want to think about that.The comforts of money,relationships, personality and power supersede all these fears and the human being thinks he can escape from every thing.

Death:- We hide this truth from ourselves. Because we don't want to leave our love one.
A mother can't think about let her childern alone - even she knew she will surely die. reason : LOVE
A father can't do the same even he knew about his end, reason : LOVE
A wife don't even want to think about his husband death.reason : LOVE
A mother knew that one day even her child will also die, but she don't want to think over it. reason :LOVE
SO, love is the only one reason, why we hide ourselves from the "biggest truth of life is death".

If what you mean is we live and die. I myself accept that we are born. And one day we die and are no longer among the living. Why because that's life. What comes after death only God knows.

becoz for our loved one, we dont want to depart with them.
we shivered by thinking that we will leave them, just only this care & love stop us to hide from this truth.
