I find it annoying how teachers just pick you randomly to answer a question... and its bad enough if you don't know the answer. This sounds stupid but, the only reason I hate school is because my social studies teacher does that. How can you not be afraid to open up and share your ideas to the class? I find it so difficult, I think its just because I'm shy... but I'm not like that in my other classes. My social studies teacher is my form teacher and hes so freckin' scary!! can anyone help...

There are so many aspects to social studies and so few answers. It's not like a math class, where a problem has only one solution or a language class where a grammatical item is either right or wrong. In this class, discussion and debate are necessary to illustrate different ideas. Perhaps you're so afraid to open up because you're not well prepared in the subject. But everyone must take part in the politics and philosophies that make our world either a safe or dangerous place to live in.

I had a teacher who said, "Ignorance of history is like amnesia; without knowing where we came from, we have no way to know where we're going. We're doomed to repeat our mistakes." Before I heard this, I disliked social studies. But the teacher made me think, and then I began to really study the issues of the day. I suggest that once you understand what is going on in your course and in the world, both past and present, your fear will vanish. Give it a try. All of us are responsible for the future. And without knowing the past and even the present, we may have no future. Good luck.

this occurs perpetually. i found that for the duration of my instructions if I had smaller communities then extra pupils will discover themselves extra in contact. i don't be attentive to how huge your communities are, yet I attempt to not have communities that are extra desirable than 4. optimal is two, yet that may not sensible. you may merely walk around and remind them with politeness to maintain centred on the activity to hand. the place I taught (community college) they prefer instructors that use inventive approaches to coach jointly with group discussions etc so this is a sturdy element to do for the dean. in case you be attentive to your classification nicely and be attentive to which pupils are difficulty you could attempt to divide the class in communities the place slacker pupils finally end up with slacker pupils. it could earnings the communities if the scholars are assigned responsibilities or initiatives in each and each group. to illustrate, one often is the spokesperson, one often is the secretary (write notes down) and yet another be looking with the aid of notes and textual content fabric etc. Giving assigned responsibilities could help pupils discover roles interior the communities particularly of having them permit the brightest and maximum gregarious or involved pupils do all the artwork whilst they only sit down there and don't something or chat with acquaintances. desire this helps. stable success and don't burn out!
