You could always re enroll in a alternative high school.Your only 18 so you will still qualify up to age 24.You have no choice but to pay for the test the test will be held at a state testing facility. The fee for the test pays for the use of the facility and pays for the GED instructors time. There are many people waiting to take the GED and testing dates are becoming longer. You used to be able to take the test monthly now it is every 3 to 4 months and there is a huge backlog. There are some adult learning programs that may be able to help with transportation(bus fare) to and from school,GED books, pens and paper but, you will need to call the board of education and find out if these kinds of programs are available where you live.I would try the local high schools also they usually have small budgets for GED classes.

There is no cost or very little if you check it out at your local high school. But hey, it's summer and you may find a job that will pay you to get your GED and then you will be able to enroll into a junior college, go to a technical school or find menial labor the rest of your life. Let's face it. You are young with a whole lot of potential. What would you really like to do with your life? You need to go and talk to a high school counselor and they will help you. Envision where you would like to be 5 years down the road. If you can dream it, you CAN do it! Good Luck!

There are all sorts of dead-end jobs for high school dropouts: pump gas, pick fruit, wash windows, do roofing jobs, the list goes on and on. Of course, you have to apply for them. To do that you have to look in the newspapers, go online for job searches (low-level jobs are generally not listed) or call your local unemployment office and ask where they post jobs.
GED courses are free. You can take the courses part-time in your local school district or library. Of course, you'll need to study for the tests, but you don't seem to like studying very much or you wouldn't have dropped out of school. In this world, dropouts in any field of endeavor are losers. Do you want to be a loser for the rest of your life? Or do you want to do something to contribute to your own future and to that of the world? It's your decision.

You could always go back to school and study. The other options are dead end jobs like fruit picking and washing windows. Its up to to you how you want to spend the rest of your life. I heard this morning that the longer you stay studying thebetter a job you will get because you have 40years hopefully to work in a job.

you could try getting an apprenticeship.
they usually let most people get them coz you get taught everything.
there are also ways to get into university if you have dropped out of school.
probably not if you wanted to do something like science
or maths, though.
also, there is usually a way for the government to pay for you to go to uni. you'll probably have to research it.
