When batsmen play in 20/20 matches their batting technique will obviously be more explosive than a 50 over or Test match, but an experienced batsmen should be able to change his batting style according to his situation. i.e.: more defensive in Test, mixture of slow and explosive in one-days etc.

20/20 cricket was definetely created for people to be more entertained while watching cricket, and it is more entertaining, but it just isn't real cricket. I still can't wait for the 20/20 World Cup in SA later this year, although it is a bad timing for South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, England, and other participating countries that also play rugby, as it happens in the same timeframe as the IRB Rugby World Cup in France.

It actually would affect the batting techniques of players. The question is, how?
Its been proven that the faster version of the game i.e having to whack the ball around, would actually develop hand-eye co-ordination to a great extent. However, barring a few players of a higher calibre,I am of the opinion that it would do more damage to the techniques of other batsmen, especially in the regions of flicks and fine drives. The power boost expected would not allow for the technical batsmen to get ahead.

Now is the time for specialist players in specialist situations.
Separate teams for tests
Separate team for ODI
Separate team for 20 20 matches
Some like yuraj can play in ODI and 20 20
Some like Kaif and K dinesh Karthick would be better test players and can play similar roles in ODI's as pressure points.
Irfan Pathan , Ajit agarkar , Yousef Pathan , can play ODI's and 20 20 mathes
Shewag would make a brilliant 20 20 player so would Uthappa
Dhoni would be good in playing 20 20 and ODI's but a poor test player
Ganguly , Sachin and Dravid should quit all three and make way for youngsters. Already Laxmans career is destroyed by being in their shadow. Atleast now think of retiring gracefully and let youngsters play.

Yes,it will surely affect the batting techniques of the batsmen but not of all in the world. Some defensive batsmen are forced to play more than their strike rate and it affects their batting techniques. But some batsmen who beleive in attacking batting prefer 20-20 cricket match.

Yes. I fully agree with you that Twenty/20 matches will defenitely affect the batting technique as it is a game ideally suited for sloggers.

i agree with you
but not for genuine players.
only players with "cheating heredity factor"
they would do something to affect batting techniques.
the closest example is 2007 cup final.
some players used batting enhanced devices.
what a disgrace to that particular country,
let alone that so called cricket(squash) player
too bad gonna happen in 20 -20
by those spirit of the game killers

its the best idea. as the game will consume less time and more people will be attracted to it.
Even in 50 overs match 15 to 40 overs are completely boring.
20-20 can attract more people and give us a chance to introduce cricket in olympics. time was the reason why cricket was not included in olympic.
20-20 cricket can save valuable time in comtry like india where people are cricke t crazzy.
People spent their whole day on watching onday-match and at the end mach resutls in loss of entire day without any productive work. its costimg indian growth alot.
I think 20-20 is the best option to ONE DAY cricket.
Its a fast paced game with lots of exitment and fun
